Receive $50 HOP Credit When You Buy a $5 AT HOP Card, Load $10 Credit, & Use it on 10 Separate Days @ AT Kiosks (Auckland)

360

AT is running a 10-day Public Transport Challange. AT kiosks are likely to be available in multiple locations, but the one we found is at Sylvia Park near the food court. Please feel free to comment if you've seen one elsewhere.

  • You must purchase a $5 AT HOP card with $10 credit, so a total of $15 pre-purchase is required. They will scan the new card and ask for your contact details.
  • You will be sent a confirmation email with a link to register your new card with an AT account. An existing account seems to work.
  • After using your new AT HOP card for 10 days (does not need to be consecutive) within two months, AT will top it up with $50.

Gives you a $45 value since you purchased the new card for $5.

Terms & condtions
$5 AT HOP card purchase is for a limited time and does not apply on pre-loaded cards. AT HOP terms apply. Visit AT.govt.nz/athopterms. To qualify for the 10 Day Public Transport Challenge, you need to provide your registered AT HOP card number and contact details at the mall kiosk. Then use your card on 10 separate days before the end of the two-month period following the HOP card purchase. These don’t have to be consecutive days. Once you’ve met the requirements, we’ll top-up your T HOP card with $50 HOP Money. Confirmation will be sent [to] your email address.

    • how do you get 2 cards?

      you get one, then get another?

    • Awesome idea! THANKS

  • +1

    I got one of these last time around - you need to register your card at the kiosk to start the deal

  • So do I buy the AT card there or do I have to get one myself and topup $10 on it?

    • You buy it there

  • would anyone know where they will be in the following days?

    • +17

      Yep.
      I’ll be at work Mon-Fri but I’m free on the weekend 😊

  • +1

    there is one in westfield albany

    • Which part of albany mall do you remember?

      • by life pharmacy.. they were there on sunday… and also last weekend

  • +1

    Saw a booth at Glenfield Mall on Saturday.

  • So does anyone know where these booths will be for the coming week? I presume this special promo status is only loaded onto the cards bought from the booth itself? (rather than just any random card)

      Promo runs at Westfield (Albany, Newmarket, St Lukes, Manukau), Sylvia Park, Lynn Mall, Glenfield, and Botany Town Centre during weekends until May 2023.

      • thanks!

  • I think i saw a booth in botany mall, next to starbucks

  • If anybody sees one at Albany, Whangaparaoa, or Silverdale let me know. I can make it to those malls.

    • +1

      A few comments above reckons that there’s one at Westfield Albany

      • I wondered if they moved around so that they might not be there every day

        • I wonder if they get rotated around so they don't get abused by disgruntled passengers with all the cancelled/delayed PT services

  • Can we buy from transport Center customer service desk. Like new lynn station ? And will it work?

    • Check Lynn mall they were present front on ASB Bank over the weekend.

    • No, it has to be activated at the pop-up

  • I wonder if it works only for the adult fare or does it work for the student fare too?

  • +5

    You should be able to find their pop ups during weekends at:

    Lynnmall
    Sylvia Park
    Westfield Albany
    Westfield Manukau
    Westfield St Lukes
    Glenfield Mall
    Botany Town Center
    Westfield Newmarket

    And you can get the deal with any concession. Just change your concession at AT after registering the card.

    • Do you know if there is one at Britomart train station?

      • +1

        Probably not. They always target malls with this promotion

  • My guess is it's this booth, but only on weekends. This was Lynmall today.

  • +1

    Yep at St lukes in the Centre court

    • Thank you. Got ours yesterday

  • Westfield Albany outside Kmart/Life Pharmacy

    • They will be there every weekend until the end of April they said

  • Westfield newmarket Level 1 - outside of farmers/under armour

    edit: they also allow you to get as many cards as you want - and can be registered under the same account

    • I was told each new card had to be registered under their own new account at Sylvia Park.

      • I was told today they needed different emails to register for the promotion but the cards could be registered to the one Hop account.

  • I bought one from glenfield mall but didn't receive any email hhmmmm

    • Neither. Hoping that the email comes through tomorrow once they process all the new sign-ups

    • What is the email for and do we need to wait for the email and follow its instruction before using the card?

  • if i already have a hop card i bought a while back and have used it already am i still eligable for this promo??

    • You can be an existing user but you need to buy a new card to get this promo.

  • can i do this midweek just im out of auckland weekends

  • 19/03 UPDATE: "Only one AT HOP card can be registered per person to use to participate in the Challenge. If you register more than one AT HOP card to use to participate in the Challenge you will be in breach of these terms and conditions; .."

    Apparently it's a new rule because everyone was buying a million cards and it crashed their system. Will need to provide different emails and phone numbers when registering at the kiosk, and I assume it will be the same when registering the cards online. Buy multiple cards at your own risk!!

    • Hmm frustrating, I'm sure these T&Cs were not there when I signed up as I read them all!. Thanks Toes for the comment :) For anyone that wants to read the full T&C's they are here. https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/at-hop-card/buy-at-hop-ca…

      • +1

        Given they are new terms i expect the ones purchased prior to this to be honoured. Ive got 4 cards waiting for $50

      • From an old copy of the T&C's it seems that it says "AT reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend your participation in the Challenge at any time and without notice on any reasonable ground including but not limited to: registering and/or using more than one AT HOP card to participate in the Challenge"

        It's interesting that the guy I purchased my cards from didn't say any of this and in fact registered two cards on his phone for me with the same details.

        • Wait where did you get this from? I swear that wasn't there when I went 2 weeks ago …

      • When I went, I swear they didn't even have this page on their website or any mention of the promotion … The T&C's were literally just on the pamphlet (OP's image). I even asked the stall guy if hypothetically someone can just buy a bunch of cards and cycle through them and he said "basically yeah".

    • And different names when registering online

  • Does anybody have a copy of the terms at the start of this promo? I feel i am going to have a fight with AT.

    • OP's image of the pamphlet states terms and conditions which only really says "AT HOP terms apply, visit AT.govt.nz/athopterms". I don't have the mental capacity to read through it but let me know if you find anything worth noting :(

    Anyone received the hop credit? how long took the credit arrived your account after the 10th day?

  • GUYS PLEASE update confirmed KIOSK locations this weekend please!!!! AUCKLAND

    cheers team!!

  • +3

    Just received an email from AT confirming that both of my hop cards have been loaded with $50.

    • you used both on same route?

      did you use different names/email/phone number when signing up/registering online?

      • Yup, same route everyday. Same name/email/phone number as well for both cards.

        • you signed up on two different days at two different booths?

          • +1

            @justaddwater: same booth, same day.

            • +1

              @coxbussy: Early on they didn't have it in the conditions that it was 1 per person. They do now so it is good they are honouring their oversight.

  • Found proper info on this on AT's website: https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/at-hop-card/buy-at-hop-ca…

    Mall locations
    * Botany Town Centre
    * Glenfield Mall
    * LynnMall
    * Westfield Albany
    * Westfield Newmarket
    * Westfield St Lukes
    * Westfield Manukau
    * Sylvia Park Mall

    Mall kiosks will be open during mall trading hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Did anyone get the $50? I competed 10 trips on separate days on 16th March but still nothing. No reply to email also.

  • hi guys i didnt receive my email yet, have used the card on 10 different days. though my card is a Child pass, so another half price on the half price, extra Cheapie. will it work???
