For anyone with a recessed VESA mount like many Dell monitors, I'd double check this fits. Cannot mount a very similar shaped arm bracket from the same brand without using additional screw spacers as its too large to fit in the 100x100 recessed hole due to the pointy corners

  • Is there any benefit to having one in this style vs. one like this?

    • The failure point of the one you linked is that the spring may way wear overtime resulting in a droop, the one OP posted may also be 'closer' to the wall, at the cons of not having full motion adjustability.

My main 34" is on a rigid arm, the 22 is on a gas mount.. they're same same for the most part.

      • I don't know if they all do, but my $39 arm has screws to tighten, so if you find anything sagging you just tighten that up and it gives it more resistance again.

    • I think one other difference is tilt angle. Gas arm one will have more tilt then the one listed here.

I prefer gas arm as it will be more easily to move around. This is just my experience.

  • As others have pointed out, there's other options for significantly cheaper. I bought a $39 one from The Market over a year ago called Zuvio Full Motion Gas Spring Single Monitor Mount 17"- 32"

It's been great, and it only begins to sag if you move it too much, you just tighten the screws (I've done it twice and I move my monitor at least 2-5 times a day.)

I'd avoid this style of arm at this price point and get a gas spring for less.

    • Yeah this for those that don't adjust their height often or worry about the spring failing (often used in offices)

One can get this for $20 which is similar to the kogan one I posted earlier, but the kogan has a nicer bottom arm cable shroud design

      • Yep, that's a rebranded one of what I have on sale. Far easier to adjust and also significantly cheaper. No worries about failures, it's the kind of thing a more expensive brand will tout as a selling point when the reality is the failure rate isn't any more common than with theirs.

I move my monitor a lot (probably more than 5 times a day in many cases, I just threw it out as a gauge), and the only issue has been one of the screws coming loose on the monitor angle point. If I had a monitor on the upper end of the weight limit, I'd be concerned, but to be honest I wouldn't get either of them in that case and go for something with a high weight range.

        • 5 times a day?! Mad…I move mine only when someone bumps it out of alignment.

          • @itakestime: Gotta remember that every time you move it somewhere temporarily, you have to move it back, which just doubles the number of times it's being moved.

I move it for a different position depending on if I am working/gaming, want productivity (more screens), want to watch TV etc. No point having an easy to move arm if you have no need to move the screen to be honest.

  • An interesting monitor arm
