It was too hard trying to get that information on my phone so went with the easy post.
Mitre 10 TeRapa would only offer a price match not a price beat because its on sale. I tried arguing my case but ended up leaving. Will try again later with another person.
Hard to work out the logic with that.
Their Price guarantee states "If you find a lower price on an identical in-stock product, we will beat it by 15%" - no mention that it can't be on sale.
They even state that current websites and catalogues are preferred which is what a competitor does when it's on sale….Might be easier just to flick an email to their customer care team: [email protected]

I had to argue at rebel sports with the assistant manager, because they didn't think price guarantee would apply to items on sale, as it only applied to a "lower advertised retail price". They considered the item on sale item was a "lower advertised sale price" and that was different to an "advertised retail price".
I had to argue that a retail price meant a price that is a consumer would pay at a retail store and explained that the price guarantee was for "retail price" not "RRP".

Get it on record and complain to the commerce commission. Mitre10 advertise the 15% price beat to give the illusion to customers their prices are competitive when in reality their prices are more expensive than competitors like Bunnings when the same item is stocked.
Them not upholding their own policy is false advertising and a violation of the fair trading act. They deserve to be fined for misleading NZ'ers
If you don't want the hassle at the very least send a complaint to head office. I did this in a similar situation when I was young and naive. If the same situation were to happen again I'll definitely go straight to the commerce commission.
Literally only thing Mitre10 is good for is doing 15% price beat on Bunnings (and others). Paying full price at Mitre10 is like burning money.I purchased this oil from Te Rapa Mitre 10 last time Repco had it 50% off and got them to price beat without any issues.
I had the same issue last time this was on sale, I asked them to explain why and then they decided to do the price beat.

Nice. That's the way the price guarantee policy is meant to work. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops when it meets criteria.
