DEWALT 18V Impact Driver Kit DCF840D2T-XE $149 + Shipping ($0 CC/ in-Store) @ Bunnings

130

Comes with the Impact driver, 2x 2Ah 18V Batteries, One Charger and the TSTAK Case to store the Impact.

The Impact driver (DCF840) alone looks to be $149 at the Tool Shed and $200 @ Mitre 10.

It is showing out of stock at a lot of Bunnings locations, but delivery is available so you should be able to get it, just enter your location and it'll give the cost estimate, for me it's $7 in Auckland.

If you get an error in the cart you have to change your Bunnings store on the website to one that has the item in stock, the item will ship from your selected Bunnings store (see comments).

I have one ,It's not a great impact driver it lacks the three speeds of the 887 and quite a bit down on Torque despite what the specs say. It struggles with 100 mm batten screws but good enough for chipboard screws. It's a good setup for assembling flat packs and cabinetry work.

    • Fair enough. for me I'm just a light DIYer so it fits the bill fine, unfortunately the DCF887 doesn't qualify for the free 5Ah battery otherwise that'd be a good package to get, it seems to be $139 @ iTools

I have one and find it to be good and powerful. Have probably used it for about 5000 fencing screws so far. But I am using a 5.0 AH battery with it. I have heard using a smaller 2 AH battery with tools can mean that they don't have as much power. Mitre 10 sometimes have this model on special for $99 as a bare tool and I recall they had to price beat another retailer that was also selling it slightly cheaper, so I got it for about $80 ish

  • Does not appear to work even if you select delivery. "Cart unavailable: We've had an issue processing your order. Please call Bunnings Customer Support on 0800 35 00 11"

It sets the delivery origin to your local store, you just have to manually select a store that has it in stock, I selected one 55km away from me and the delivery fee was still $7.

Thanks, this correction helped and I was able to purchase. I just assumed it was like PBTech where they also have a centralized warehouse that it would be sent from. Cheers @internetwork

No worries, I should've mentioned that in the post but I have edited it now to reflect that. They're also missing another feature that incidentally PBTech has, where you can get the item shipped from another store to your local so you can Click and Collect at your local.
