  • Can also use 12OT21 from their 11.11 page to get even more discount:
    https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1102138299/pages/promotion-…

Remember to also collect their store discount like EUFY84 to get even further discount.

I'm getting the Eufy S380 homebase 3, Eufucam S330 and indoorcam C24 x2 as well as a few other things for $485 total, that's with shipping and tax already included. Not bad.

    • +3

Making separate orders gives you more discounts as $4 off $20 can be applied only upto $100 total. Also, can use multiple codes for $100,$200 etc

  • Was keen to upgrade from HomeBase 3 but no HomeKit for this which is silly.

  • What would be the best option if I want 4 high quality cameras?

I don't have any security gear at the moment and would love to get 4 cameras with night vision and a doorbell.

    • +1

Depends if you want battery powered or hard wired.

For battery either go with s330 or s340. Both of them have good night vision and can be connected to hb3.
For door bell go with e340. Just bought it yesterday.

For hardwired look at e330 spotlight cams.

I have s40 and s340. Along with 2k Floodlight and couple of indoor pan and tilt.

      • Which one is better s330 or solocam s340? i think s340 just released.

        • Different use case. S340 can have 360 view and solar panel is separate. I have it mounted on the corner of the house to cover both side.

          S330 is fixed location.

Both are new in terms of release time.

  • Anyone have problems using the coupon. The ad says N $7 off every $35 then max ($28 per order). When I add something in cart the system automatically cap my discount to ($28). Then at check out when I try to add the coupon manually it says “for security reasons your request can’t current be processed”

    • Are you logged in or used the coupon already?

      • Yes I am logged in.
And no I have not used the coupons
None of those coupons work for me

Eufy were embroiled in a scandal about a year ago regarding privacy. They were found to be storing images on the cloud, without user consent. Additionally anyone with the URL can view your cameras because the API is unencrypted. This is despite their marketing saying that data is stored locally and never leaves your home, and that they use military grade encryption. I don't know if they've cleaned up their act in the year since, but based on their response at the time I wouldn't support the company.

Eufy has fixed most of it. But this went too far and some of it was not true as well. Check reddit. Again I don't endorse eufy in anyway.

To elaborate Eufy didn't store all images/videos in cloud. Only the lower quality thumbnail was uploaded to send out the notifications. Yes, that was against their policy. Regarding the live view, they need to be on your wifi network to access the url assuming they also know the device id and serial number. So first off someone needs to hack your wifi which is way dangerous they getting into your cameras.

Again, there is no way to send out notifications to devices without sending it to cloud. Any company saying they would be lying.

      • I haven't personally owned or used a Eufy device so I was only relying on what others were reporting. It seems it may have been overblown. Thank you for your input on the technical aspects. Since you're more familiar with this topic, do you have any extra context on the companies response at the time? It's their response more than anything which makes me weary of them. For example how they denied it was happening, and removed their privacy statements.

        • Yes. Eufy didn't handle it properly. Rather they should have accepted it and issued an apology.

        • There are videos debating the facts of the alligations and some of them turned out to be false, make sure to hear both sides of the story.

  • Thank you OP! bought one. I wanted one a while back but couldn't justify the cost of the upgrade on the home base. But now i can!!!!!

  • That is a good price. Got it for $170 delivered last time

    • How would you rate this vs the older version?

      • This is my first homebase, so i can't comment on the difference sorry

      • Same not sure on the comparison. Main thing is additional storage and AI bionic for facial recognition.

      • One advantage of the old one is that it had a battery backup system. Somehow I had this but I think it was usually an optional extra. It was a small extra platform with an onboard battery that you then popped your homebase on top of. This meant you still were protected during power cuts (or if someone switches off your mains at the outside powerboard) HB3 doesn't seem to have this option. I tried my HB2 battery backup on my HB3 but it didn't seem to work.

If eufy supported POE on their cameras, I'd consider it.

Anything else is just a mess

    • Wireless no good? Doesnt take long to recharge or swap out but can be a pain of remote

      • Not a fan of wireless security. Security systems should never be able to be intercepted by other people. The best way of deterring that is to limit their access to physical access only.

Also depending on where the cameras are placed, they may not have access to the sun for solar charging.

        • If the cable is exposed they can just chomp it.
they said the same thing for WIFI , I haven't used a wired unless I am docked. most of the time I am on wireless making full def video calls.Technology is getting better

    • Good to know, that is a deal breaker for me too.

    • Then you should connect them to a NAS.

  • Should I be choosing EU or UK plug when buying?

    • +2

They come with both. Didn't get AU plug. Put in a message to seller to include AU plug. Thry might include not sure.

    • You can buy a bunch of AU plugs from Aliexpress for cheap. Or they sell it at the dollar store.

  • How is the warranty? Will eufy nz honor them?

    • Most definitely won't get warranty in nz

  • Anyone has the eufy security keyapd? Can you enter arm mode without entering your pin? like long hold etc.

  • We’ve been thinking about setting up some security cameras for a while now and these seem like some good deals. But it’s so daunting deciding what to get. Is wired or battery better? I think we’ve got some existing sensor lights that we could swap out from a wired connection side of things.

    • +1

If possible go hardwired if you can. 24/7 recording can only be done with hardwired connection. Battery operated cams only record events and none of them are 100% accurate. Eufys have both and you can mix and match into one ecosystem like few others.

There Floodlights and new s100 & e330 are hardwired cams.

      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005485578708.html

      • Thanks so much. Dumb question, does 24/7 recording use a lot of power?

        • Most likely no, but to be frank haven't measured either. I have 2 indoor cams plugged in and can say the required power ratings is quite low so not much.

        • I have wireless on 24/7 and last 6 months. I get alerts and can play recordings every time its triggered. Or you can monitor live.

          • @Joe: That's not what 24/7 means. 24/7 means its recording continously and you can rewind back to anytime. All wireless cameras are ON 24/7 and records events and can use app to view live feed.

            • @ace310: Why would you record 24/7 unless you are running a business?

              • @Joe: What is the maximum duration your wireless camera can record? 60-120sec? Then there is a timeout period (normally a minute) before it starts again. What if something happens during that timeout period, you have no records of it.

                • @ace310: Timeout is no that long at all. I have multi cameras setup in sequence so no issues there

This is so shady. I had this in my cart at the start of 1:1. Was shopping around and purchased today not noticing the price had changed in the cart. Still has all the 1:1 sale adornments all over it. Bait and switch.

    • It still has the sale price from 11.11. The coupons to get extra discount has expired. What's shady about it? Care to explain. Even this deal has been marked expired.

11.11 sale prices are until 18th. It's mentioned everywhere on the banner.

      • I put it in the cart expecting it to be NZ$127.33. But the codes don't last the length of the sale. Sale promo material says 7 days.

        • Sorry, but you expect the codes to be working when they are marked expired. Nothing shady about that. Clearly the deal was for a day. The expiry is mentioned above as well.

          • @ace310: It wasn't clear to me at all. I'm not blaming this CC post. I'm saying the 24 promo codes in a 7 day sale are a deliberate bait and switch. Just like the individual stores bait you with a price that's for the first dummy accessory item and when you get to the page the price of the real item you want is double or triple. Sorry, but you're a simp for Ali. We have great consumer laws in this country, and this is why.

The image on the item still shows the fully discounted (with the codes) price in USD? $75.

            • +2

@squareeyes: I am not working or endorse Aliexpress, if that's what you are implying. I can still see the price in cart as $75.13. Here. This is before taxes. Aliexpress has a cruel method of applying taxes on the price before discount, so that can be significant. The expired coupons brought the price before tax down, so that got some offset.

Secondly, if you care about consumer law so much, you should not even think about buying from outside the country as NO CGA or any protection is applied in that case. I think you can't even claim CGA on Amazon purchases.

Thirdly, almost all do some kind of shady things. Eg.JBHIFI would only list discounts on a item, but not the actual price for some things. There are in-store specials only. Some stores list ex-gst price which is what Aliexpress does as well. All major power companies list their unit rate ex-gst. What do consumer laws do in that case. Almost nothing. Onus is on the buyer to judge and interpret the price not the seller. Aliexpress is no different, yes it is more aggressive in that matter. But you can see the price in cart which all matters.

Lastly, nothing is stopping you from cancelling the order if you think you are being scammed.

  • I want to buy another one! op, how did you come across your coupons and deals for this?

    • Coupons are often posted on OzBargain
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/aliexpress.com

I also see em on CouponsfromChina (though a day or two behind OzB)

    • If you can hold out until closer to Christmas or boxing day I'm sure the prices will reduce again. They have been stubbornly "not cheap" since the last round of discounts around black Friday. Currently they are mostly 21% off across the eufy range, which is more like a standard price.
