I've used the zemismart rollers on a few blinds and would recommend them - work well with Home Assistant etc, but found that wiring them to power was better for me than the hassle of periodically recharging the battery ones, especially as all batteries lose capacity over the years, so unless access really is an issue then I'd suggest getting one of their wired ones over the battery one.

My cheap existing Spotlight rollerblinds had a too-small diameter tube to work with the standard 37/38mm diameter motors, but this was easily fixed by buying a length of correct-sized tube from a local blind shop.

    • Do you need the Tuya Hub as well? Or just the blinds, your router and your phone?

Also, dumb question, but any idea how well this would work with roman blinds?

      • If you get wifi version, you don't need a zigbee hub like Tuya. But they crowd your router and consume more power compared to zigbee version.

You need to have a zigbee hub like Tuya or similar, but they run on totally different network/channel so NO interference with wifi devices and have better range, long battery life. Also, it can be run locally without going outside the network.

  • Does this mean my width of my blinds/window needs to be exactly 432mm wide? how does this work.

    • That's the length of the motor, so your blinds have to be wider than 432mm.
The motor fits inside your existing blind tube, which with this motor has to be around a 37mm diameter. You basically remove the endcaps/fittings on your existing tube and insert this motor into one end instead.
The left-hand end of the motor as seen in their photo becomes a new end-cap for your blind and stays fixed in place by the included blind bracket, while the right-hand end spins around inside the tube, turning the tube and moving the blind up/down.

  • Yes, how does this work? Is it just the tube and motor? Do I have to supply the blind? Cheers

  • This is coming as US$47 delivered from aliexpress for me using choice. Not sure if available to all or not.

That's one without a built-in battery. They seem to have a bewildering variety of models, with different connectivity/dimension/power options.

  • So I have custom curtains. I measured the tube and it's 45mm diameter so this won't work right as it being 37mm? Is there a 45mm version out there?
