$100 for Referrer and $100 for Referee (New Signups) @ Flick Electric

60

Flick are doing a $100 referral program until the end of March (usually $50). They have no fixed term contracts, and their off-peak includes all-day Saturday/Sunday, so I've actually had better value than the Contact 'Good Nights' plan.

You'll need to get in touch with an existing customer via the random referral link below (not the 'Go to Deal' link) to get their referral link and email address.

Friend Get Friend March 2024 Promo Terms and Conditions
1. These terms govern the Flick Energy Limited (‘Flick‘) Friend Get Friend March 2024 Promo (‘the Flick Friend Get Friend Promo’).
2. The Flick Friend Get Friend March 2024 Promo is for all new residential customers who join us through referral from our current customers.
To be eligible for this credit they would need to:
move into or reside at a residential address that Flick is able to serve;
apply to join Flick at the new address and pass any necessary credit checks;
enter the email of the current Flick customer they were referred by as the promo code; and
have not benefited from any other Flick promotional joining credits.
3. The Flick Friend Get Friend March 2024 Promo gives all new residential customers who meet the above criteria:
NZ$100 credit on their Flick accounts; and
NZ$100 credit for the Flick account of the Flick customer who referred them.
4. The Promo Credit is not transferable, refundable nor redeemable for cash.
5. If the customer leaves Flick before they have used all the promo credit, the promo credit will be forfeited.
6. The Friend Get Friend March 2024 Promo begins on 5 March 2024 and ends on 31 March 2024 unless notified by Flick.
7. These Friend Get Friend March 2024 Promo terms apply in addition to the standard Flick Terms and Conditions.
8. Flick reserves the right to alter or terminate this promotion at any time as per their discretion.

  • is the Z energy sign up deal of 50L is a better option? given fuel prices is close to $3 or above.. so around $150, even though on referral bonus available now?

    • I have signed up to Z before and gotten the free 50L (around 2 years ago now), but thinking of going back to them just to get this 50L promo. Has anyone done it twice before? (I can use a different number and Z account if it helps, but I know when signing up I will be using my name and DOB for credit check)
      And I assume like before, the 50L gets credited after 2 weeks?

        I think their terms and conditions state you can do it once every 12 months. Also you can get 75L if you use someone’s referral code.

          I think they have stopped the referral program

          Thanks yeah I can see it in their T&Cs - worth a shot to sign up again then :)

    • What are their power prices? Have started signing up, but then realised I have not seen any actual pricing to compare with Mercury, for example…

  • Contact free weekend plan also has no contract, and has the same referral bonus of $100, may offer a lower rate than Flick.. so worth checking first.

      Frank Energy also worth hopping on to for a month or two (no contracts), only $50 referral bonus but their rates are the lowest I've been able to find for my north Canterbury property (without living under the tyranny of free hours): https://www.cheapies.nz/deals/frankenergy.co.nz

      • I'm never sure if the cheapies automated referral codes are from active users, can you give me a sign up referral code from your account?

        • I cannot, it is against the rules for me to do so. Just tried clicking through from a few random referrals and you aren't given any feedback on the frank energy website that it has worked, so I feel your pain, not sure what to suggest sorry.

          If you've entered a referral on cheapies it expires after 12 months so odds are decent they're active.

  • I ended up going with Mercury here in Hamilton. Low user, there rates were comparable to both Powershop and Flick, and I got a $250 sign up bonus (they do referrals as well). Yet to receive my first bill (hopefully I did my research right lol).

      This one was interesting - I looked into this and I noticed that if you sign up for the $250 bonus (1 year contract), your rates go up compared to if you just went on the no sign up bonus (this was for Auckland though). I did the math, and based on over 8,000 KwH per year, strangely it came out cheaper to just go on the no sign up bonus rate.

      • Be interesting to see my first bill then, as I can't remember which rates from Mercury I was comparing (hopefully the $250 bonus version - though I'm sure it showed the rates when I signed up to this specific offer).

        • 15 Feb 2024 - 8 Mar 2024 $70.24. Not bad

    Difference with Flick against other providers I found are their off peak rates apply to all day weekend, great for high power users during cold weathers or EV charging.
