I have been riding with Hellions for a couple of years now and love them. Note to those buying, as I saw someone mention it last time there was a massive special: These are mountain bike shoes and not great for general use. The sole has minimal bend(great while riding) and the tread on the bottom is designed to grip the pins on flat pedals and is not the best otherwise.

The shock absorption in the soles works pretty well. I have used the toe striker extensively and it is still holding together and does about as good of a job as you can hope for when kicking rocks.

They would be great for anyone looking to wear them while riding but not the best as a general casual use shoe.

    • what is a toe striker?

Probably not the actual name for it. I was referring to the additional rubber around the front of the shoe that comes up over the toes.

    • Thanks for the info. I was considering them as a normal shoe, but will now pass

  • Does anyone know if they are wide enough for people who typically wear wide shoes? (Like 2E or 4E)
