No Kogan Birthday BOGO This Year??

Plans ends in 2 days - first time in past few years that it hasn’t been available - anyone know what’s up?

    I’m sure it will be.
Think you’re just a few days too early.
Came out mid August last year so maybe just go on a monthly plan if it runs out in the interim.

    • Ahh ok, cool I thought it was a month long promo. I’ll keep my eyes pealed - ta

I'm also waiting for this as my plan ends this month.

I was told perhaps to just go to their Monthly plan and wait for the 365 days plan to come on sale.

They've been running special deals in aus that ends today so hope a deal will be available for nz next week maybe monday.

I also remember people were saying last year that once their BOGOF plan finishes they were able to purchase the same plan for half price, same price with the BOGOF

    • I did check that, and nothing showing up unfortunately

    • no they meant that whenever the BOGOF event is live, you can directly purchase a single plan for half price instead of two if u redeemed that plan the previous year. it saves people the hassle of having to split the deal again. its not half price whenever

      • Yes, I seem to recall too that last year around this period now that option to purchase - renew a half priced plan mysteriously appeared in (only !) my Kogan mobile online account. Anyway myself and my Kogan BOGOF friend are on that large size 365 day plan deal until it expires for us on September 29 or so. suggest Cheapies wait as long as you can to see what deals Kogan Mobile could still offer in August or into September. Id be surprised if they don't offer same or similar good deals, as they will lose quite a few loyal longer term customers like me if they don't offer best competitive deal/s. 😏

        • yeah mine expired earlier this month. just bought the monthly package in the meantime till they run the deal again. no biggie honestly considering how much money i've saved otherwise from using this service over 2 years

Also waiting for a KoganMobile deal.

Do you folk just sell the BOGO here to split and share the cost?

    • Yes that is exactly what many do.
It is at your own risk though so I would suggest you only buy/sell with people who have been around a while on this site. It’s not fully mitigating your risk but you would like to think it’s less likely you’ll get scammed.

Good to know. Well ive been around on here donkeys years so would probably only deal with someone whose been around longer 😅

        • Yeah I’ve done a few splits over the years no issues, but now got the partner on kogan also

      • Yes there was a forum post about a year ago where a user on here ripped off another user with one of these Kogan deals.

        • Someone could just join and advertise they have a coupon code when they never bought the deal.

I got the Kogan Mobile Prepay Voucher Code: LARGE (365 Days | 15GB Per 30 Days) for $165 last year - I hope they do this again this year!

Check your actual expiry date on the site vs. what the reminder email tells you, too.
I got an email today saying my plan expires on the 13th August, but the site says I still have until the 22nd.

  • I'll be churning at the end of the month if there no offer but fingers crossed they do..

    • Ditto

    • Churning to who though? There's no one else for the price.

      • +1

depends on your needs, I almost never use minutes(app voice notes/messages now) so a prepay minute rate(or option to buy $4 pack) is good with me and I currently have 10+ Spark 1.5GB SIM's that cost $1-3 each and over 20 Warehouse Mobile $5 SIM's that cost $1 and have $5 credit(500MB Data) I can use on SIM2 for Data.

As for why I have all the SIM's you could use them for pickup/delivery services to claim new member bonus etc(saving $15-20 for $1 cost when SIMs on special, activate when needed) so keeping them on hand saved tons of money.

  • What other alternatives are there if this doesn't happen?

    • back to skinny? or perhaps I think I'll go to their small prepay plan

      • Let's see. Have to figure out something

        • personally i think i'll just go to the small plan as it's $13.3/month albeit the data shrink to 1.5Gb

Mighty Mobile when they have a deal going

  • +1

Fingers crossed there is a deal, might have to drop to the Medium plan for a month or two, otherwise if there is no offer will just port the number to another Telco.

  • As Mighty Ape/Mobile is owned by Kogan I wonder whether that'll be their new go to. Push people to higher paying unlimited data plans.

Waiting for this also. Expires on 26th, otherwise I’ll be looking elsewhere shortly.

Gotten this deal for 4 years in a row! Will feel weird transferring to someone else.

    • Likewise myself

I contacted their live chat and they will neither confirm nor deny. But they did mention to keep checking the website so that's promising.

        • Maybe they want to see the churn rate before the next offer, odd its taken so long if they did intend it to be this month.

          • +2

@Dunno: I would still expect something to come through soon (but who knows when).
Kogan Mobile is targeted at the budget conscious so I would imagine the churn rate would be fairly high if they don’t do something.
There will be a huge amount of their customers on a 50% off or BOGOF deal at the moment.

I still have until mid Sept for my kids plans to expire so still a few weeks for me yet.

        • I did get the same response as well. It was pretty generic response.

  • My husband and I got two for the price of one this is going to expire beginning September Any one had any good Koogan deals offerd. Thanks In Advance

I reckon the smart move is go on the Kogan monthly medium plan ($25 for 4GB) until Black Friday (29 November). Around 10 bux extra per month for a few months, use WiFi and download playlists.

If Kogan do the deal at all, surely they'll do it on black friday. Even if they limit it to new customers from now on, other providers will have their black friday sales on, and it will be a good time to move.
