Website Updated: For New and Existing Customers

Voucher needs to be purchased by the 27/8/23 but you have until the 30/9/23 to redeem.

The unique Kogan Mobile voucher included as part of this product is non transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Voucher must be purchased before 11:59pm NZST on 27/08/2023. Voucher must be redeemed before 11:59pm NZST on 30/09/2023. A Kogan Mobile SIM card is automatically included with a purchase of this plan. SIM delivery takes up to 14 working days, after which you can activate your plan. Activation or recharge must be made before the voucher expiry date. Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges. Voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other vouchers or promotional offers.

Just a few things to watch:

  • Make sure you uncheck the Kogan 'First' free trial when you signup, or at least cancel it before the 14 days is up. Otherwise you will get hit with the $149 annual sub.
It will be automatically selected when you go to place your order.

  • If you already have an existing Kogan Mobile sub, don't add the voucher code until you need to. Either when your plan ends or by Sept 30th when the voucher expires. The code will not extend a current plan - it will overwrite it and you will lose whatever time you have left currently.

  • Uncheck the autorenew option on your Kogan Dashboard after you have applied the voucher (look for the 3 green dots … to find the option). It will be set to autorenew by default.

Merged from Buy One Get One Free 365 Day Prepay Plans (Large 15GB $330) @ Kogan Mobile

Kogan's birthday buy one get one free deal is back. It's that time of the year. I know lots of fellow cheapies have been eagerly waiting for this. Currently I can only see large plan

Live large on a 365 Day LARGE Plan for complete freedom to surf, stream and socialise to your heart’s content.

    • 2 Free SIM cards included
    • 15GB of data per 30 days
    • UNLIMITED standard calls/text to New Zealand & Australia for 365 days
    • All for use within New Zealand

    New Customer Only

Voucher must be purchased before 11:59pm NZST on 27/08/2023. Voucher must be redeemed before 11:59pm NZST on 30/09/2023.

    • Perfect timing - my current plan expires mid September so I had my fingers crossed. Thank you!

      • Same. But this is only for new customers, so no idea if we can use the voucher on existing account

        • +1

Yeah I'll be leaving Kogan if no deals for existing are offered this time. It's a great value offer for new customers

          • @Dunno: Jumping to contact and will see if something comes up in 3 months. Else going back to skinny

          • @Dunno: That sucks! Was waiting for this deal. Could you transfer your number to someone else temporarily and then back to Kogan as a "new customer"?

            • +1

@Aba22: Pretty sure this should be possible but likely would need a new email address and possibly payment method. Who's going to try it first and report back?

          • @Dunno: I logged in to koganmobile and looked at the renew options. There appears to be an option to renew with the same pricing?! Although new plan starts immediately, so any remaining will be forfeit.

Just renew - choose another plan - change to 365 plans and scroll down - you should have the option for same plan at same pricing. Plus if you didnt want to BOGOF, you can just renew one!

            • @hobbaac: Yeah I had the option to renew at 50% off with my first deal 2 years ago on another sim/number but this time around I used a code from someone else on cheapies and theres no option to renew at that pricing.

It says 1.5GB plan for $160/$13.15/mo for me :(

              • @Dunno: Odd, I just renewed both of my plans from last year at $165/13.56 for the Large plan.
                See screenshot…
                https://pasteboard.co/JSR7WzZPfjP7.png

                • @hobbaac: You simply used the current BOGOF Large plan at $165 each. @hobbac wanted to renew the Small plan. If that had a BOGOF it would be $80 each

                  • @2cheap: 15G at $165 not bad, is there any deals for under $100?
                    $80 expiring in Dec

    • +1
      • Damn. was trying to find if other plans were included or not. Lol.

        • Same.
I posted it without initially looking it was for new customers only, then had to edit.

            • +3

@ace310: I guess the lesson is:

              Post Fast and Edit

if you want to get in before BigCheese!

    • +6

Who wants to test it out and see if it works for exisiting customers? 😅 I’m trying to contact them and ask now, will report back my findings

      • +2

        Risking $330 is not ideal.

        • I agree. Bit of a language barrier with their online chat, but i pushed the issue and they’ll come back to me later today. I couldn’t find anything referencing “new customer” on the deals page though.

          • +1

@CheapiesFiend: It has "New Customer Only" on the banner under "Description"

    • +1

      It says as follows when you click 'Plan Information & Terms';

~Valid for new and existing Kogan Mobile customers.

      • +2

It's confusing. In Description big Buy 1 Get 1 Free purple image says New Customers Only.

        • See that now.. it is confusing isnt it

      • +2

Thats probably enough of a contradiction to get a charge back on a credit card if they don't honour it for existing customers.

        • +1

I agree, but I would also screenshot each page (and in particular the one that kiwicheapies mentions above) to make it smoother if you need to request a credit / chargeback.

    • +5

Spoke to live chat on Kogan Mobile and they said it is for new and existing customers

      • +1

Just talked to live chat and said it is only for new customers.

    • Weird. I just spoke to them on live chat and they told me they can't tell me anything because its the Kogan.com team that deal with it and advised I write an email.

      • +1

I had similar experience where they told me the deal wasn’t live and I facepalmed and linked it to them. Think there’s a pebcak issue on their end.

        • 😩 I think I'll hold off until someone confirms they have successfully purchased

          • +1

@Aba22: I got impatient lol so I went ahead bought it via logging into my acc. Nothing said no, and just waiting on vouchers to come through. Can’t recall how long that takes

            • @CheapiesFiend: Few minutes

            • @CheapiesFiend: Let us know how you get on entering the codes in.

              • +8

@Aba22: Nothing stopping me from entering the codes to my account. I haven’t hit the renew button as I still have 20 days left apparently.

Edit - Screw it, I’ll take on for the team it’s only a few bucks for 20 days anyways haha here goes

            • +2

@CheapiesFiend: Please update if it works for existing customer. Too many thanks coming your way if it works. Lol.

    • +1

      The link just disappeared?

    • +1

I just bought a plan since I’m a new customer and in the voucher email it says:

“If you are already a Kogan Mobile customer, simply recharge by clicking on the button above. You will not need a new SIM Card.”

    • Just wondering has anyone received theirs,
it shows the items processing in warehouse but haven't dispatched
and i only have a day or two left on my current hostel :(

      • I have the voucher codes but not SIMS.
It has a dispatch date of 24th Aug on mine so not expecting it until next week.
As it doesn’t need to be activated until 30th Sept you might be better to extend your current plan for another month first.

        • yea i might just buy another 2 cards instead to use the code instead of waiting for them to arrive at my current place but neither mart nearby have it available
it showed dispatched tdy but havent arrived yet, finger crossed that it arrives tdy or tmr

          • @QiNz: It usually arrives via regular mail unless it's changed, which could take around 7-10days sometimes depending on the location

          • @QiNz: My SIMs have just arrived in the mail now so hopefully yours aren’t too far away.

            • @bigcheese: Thanks for the update. Mines still no where to be seen :(

  • +1

New customers only….? Guess they are sick of us cheapos taking advantage of this every year. If that's the case, is it even worth buying this anymore. Anyone have an idea of cheaper alternative plans or is this still pretty decent compared to what the offerings in NZ?

  • +1

Whats with the new customers only. Any way around this to keep the same number?

    • All I can think is buying the pack and getting the new SIM cards, then transferring your current number to an alternative provider for a bit like Skinny and then switching the number back?

    • +3

Maybe switch to Contact with there free offer, stay till 29/09 and go back to kogan.

      https://contactmobile.co.nz/sim-select-product

  • +1

where does it say new customers? in T&C:

    Plan Information & Terms

~Valid for new and existing Kogan Mobile customers. Personal use only. Offer available on Kogan Mobile Prepay SMALL, MEDIUM and LARGE 365 Day plans purchased before 11:59pm NZST 27/08/2023 unless sold out prior or extended

    • Yeah thats what I had read as well

    • +1

It is in the purple banner at the top of the description: Buy 1 get 1 FREE~ New Customers only.

      • ahh.. see it now. thanks

    • It's confusing. In Description big Buy 1 Get 1 Free image says New Customers Only.

      • The email with the voucher still states:

If you are already a Kogan Mobile customer, simply recharge by clicking on the button above. You will not need a new SIM Card.

  • Does anyone know if two plans must be used for numbers in the same account?

    • No.

    • You just get two separate codes not long after payment and as long as you open a new account or two new accounts the codes will work.

  • Anyone wants to split a large voucher?

    • +2

Found out that I can simply renew at half price. So no need to split.

      • How do you do that?

        • +1

          Renew at Kogan moble dashboard

          • @hhan7: When I did that it showed full price..? So you’re seeing $165 for large plan, rather than $330 is that correct

            • @CheapiesFiend: I can see both 165 and 330

              • @hhan7: Yep, I can see both options too on my dashboard…Not sure if this is an error or not.

                • @blurtie: same here.. I can see both (on my current one - im on 4gb).

  • +16

    @ace310 @Aba22

Hey all confirming that I just tested (existing customer since 2020 using the annual birthday BOGO deals) and success! :) no issues

    • +2

      Great. OP can update it.

    • +1

      Legend!!! Thanks mate :)

    • +1

      Cheers.
      Post updated.

    • 15G , what do you guys use this one usage wise, Wifi at work, broadband at home, in the train? LOL

      • Kids. youtube, netflix

        • Nice

  • Great news! :D

  • +3

The plans information and terms has been updated to include existing customer as well 😁

  • If you have a dual Sim, to keep your number just get one of those nine-dollar plans from skinny.

    • You can bring your number over no issues. I’ve had my same number going on 20years.. now I feel old

      • I was referring to the new customers only at Kogan if you had your phone number already ported to Kogan Mobile you could then transfer it back to skinny and open a new Kogan account. Although now it seems confusing whether you have to be a new account holder or not.

        • +1

To get this deal? No you don’t need to be new customer. I’ve bought and applied the voucher to my (existing) account and now good til Aug24. Can confirm no issues.

          • +1

@CheapiesFiend: That's good to know, obviously Kogan didn't know that themselves and they have just change their terms and conditions.

  • Anyone wants to split?

    • Yes please !

  • +14

There is an error in the listing which is being fixed, it is for New and EXISTING customers (as per Ts and Cs). Apologies for the error

    • Awesome - thanks for the clarification
The banner has now changed to show new & existing

    • Very good.

    • So is there only Large plan part of B1G1 deal this time?

      • Someone on Geekzone reckons the following:

I too can see the half-price small and medium plans in the renewal settings for all four accounts I manage

        https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=164&topicid=30…

        • +1

Interesting. I have one large & one medium plan. Can't see half price for both accounts in dashboard.

          • @ace310: Just scroll to 365 days from the renew. You will see there. The half price is only for the plan you currently with

            • @Damagecorpse: Only got option to select $250 to renew. No half price.
              https://files.cheapies.nz/upload/4285/4537/screenshot_2023-0…

              • @ace310: choose another prepay plan

                • @hhan7: Thanks. Got that.

                • @hhan7: I don't see that option there, am i doing this right?

Login > My Plans > Renew or Buy Prepay Plan > Purchase a Prepay Plan Now > Choose Another Prepay Plan > 365 days > Small $160 / Medium $250 / Large $330

All the 356 days plan are full price, currently have a active small plan.

                  • +1

@doubledippps: Yes you are doing it right but unfortunately that option is no longer available.
It was part of this deal that also worked for other plans if you had an existing BOGOF but no longer does.

                  • @doubledippps: Hi guys, same here. Anyone can guide us through this would be much appreciated. Thank you.

                    • @Alias: As I mentioned above that option is no longer available.
The BOGOF on the Large 15Gb plan as per this deal is all there is now.
