Get $50 for Talking to a Home Loan Coach (Requires Having a Home Loan, No Obligation to Move) @ ANZ (Customers & Non-Customers)

530

The $50 offer is back again.
Pretty much the same deal (https://www.cheapies.nz/node/43172) as last time with 1 change:

Limit of 1 payment per household every 6 months (instead of 12 months). So everyone should be eligible again by now.

I did this last time, and it was literally a 5 minute or less phone call because I did not intend to change my bank loan (really because I could not with my interest rates locked in and cash contribution clawback)

Information below:

If you’re wondering whether your home loan is still right for you, we can help you make the best call with our new Home Loan Check In.

No matter who you bank with, our ANZ Home Loan Coaches can work with you to make sure your home loan is structured to suit your needs. The Home Loan Check In is free, there is no obligation and it will only take about 15 minutes.

Plus, for a limited time you’ll receive $50 just for checking in, with a limit of one $50 payment per household every six months.

Important Information

Limit $50 per household per 6-month period. The payment will automatically be made to your account within 15 business days of completing the check in conversation. For existing customers, payment will be made into one of your ANZ accounts we choose. We will require bank account details for non-ANZ customers at the time we speak with you.

$50 for talking to us with no obligation to move reminds me of the free weekend away for the whole family at a Wanaka resort my parents "won", and to claim the prize all they had to agree to was to sit through a 2-hour long sales pitch for some international timeshare crowd on one of the nights with absolutely no obligation to buy, just listen. Guess what happened?

I did this last time they had the offer. They called me while I was on a work call, so I asked them to call back at a different time. They never called back, and I got $50 for answering the phone.

    • Winner winner!

  • What did they say?
Like ultimately it comes down to the rates and breakfee cost. I don't see what "coaching" there is…….

    • Yeah you are right, in that those 2 things are significant, but its likely they also discuss other aspects eg ensuring you are paying off as much as your situation can handle to minimize the total cost of loan over its term, lump sum contributions, increasing the frequency of payments to minimize the interest accrual etc etc Probably lots of things to discuss dependent on the individual, their circumstances and knowledge level and the available options ANZ has to assist. (but yeah I have not done this - cbf to be fair lol)

  • I signed up for the call and they called me up within 15mins, efficient!

  • Did this last time and was a great 5 minute yarn for $50. Actually learnt something kinda useful too. Signed up!

  • Easiest $50 free Money. Just got one on the phone with a banker in 3 minutes.

  • Just signed up for that but it didn't ask for my bank account details. Just curious how do they pay you the $50?

    • did they ask your customer number

      • Nope

    • +2

They will ask you for the details when they call you - if they don't, you might have to remind them.
If you are not an ANZ customer, make sure you give them your bank account details. They should know to ask you for this, or if you are an ANZ customer, they will confirm if you are happy for them to deposit the $50 in one of your ANZ accounts.

      • Thank you!

      • The person who rang me didn't mention anything re the $50. But i sent a direct message to anz and they responded an hour later to confirm it would be deposited. They said they do a batch every ten days

  • Didn't do the last 2 will give this time a go! Cheers OP

  • I no longer have a mortgage, think I could be a little not honest? (But upfront?)

Done in 60 seconds, the ANZ representative was pretty nice and not pushy at all.

I am assuming ANZ prioritised those with higher home loan balance to call first?

I signed up within the hour when this deal is live but never received a call. Same as last year.

Probably not much for ANZ if the balance is less than 250k

Anz customer here, I signed up last night, nothing so far.

      • Same here

    • Same, signed up yesterday morning but no calls yet

      • I think it'll take a while. I signed up on the 13th of Aug. Just got a call today. 4 minute call and they confirmed they'll deposit the $50 into my ANZ account. I do have quite a large balance, they do their checks before calling you up, she knew my mortgage bank and the balance. I'm sure they will end up calling everyone over time.

    • Signed up on 13/08, got a call today 15/08, no $50 yet, will update later

I also signed up last night, mortgage of 650k+ no call so far. Last year took them nearly 2 weeks to call

  • Can anyone remember if their call came from a private number? I missed a call from a private number this morning and wondering if it was this. Thanks

    • I missed a call from a private number this morning and wondering if it was this.

      I haven't registered yet - I've been too lazy :-)

However, if it was a call from ANZ, then very poor form as many people block all calls from 'private' numbers as a matter of course.

Just because a number shows up as coming from ANZ, doesn't meant it really is, but I would not have anticipated a call from them to be on a 'private' number, so I would have missed it too.

    • Mine wasn't private. But if it was i would think they would normally leave a voicemail at the least?

    • No, the Anz call I received wasn't a private number.

  • Awesome easiest $50 I’ve ever made. Got a call within a couple hours from 027 number. I was asked what I was looking for, said nothing at the moment, then asked for my bank account number for the $50. All done in under a minute

    Thanks for posting!

Had a call back today. The lady was actually very helpful and even though I refix next June, she gave me some advice and emailed me her details if I have any other questions. She also made a note and will contact me before the refix to discuss options, oh and said I’d get $50 within 10 days!
