Thanks OP! That’s Wednesday’s lunch sorted in advance.

    Two things to note:
    - You can use the code now on a pre-order for Wednesday
    - The promo code is specific to each store (even though the FB post doesn’t mention it!) - so for Queensgate the right code is QUEENSGATE300 etc.

Interesting. When preordering, it still makes it free even if I preorder for pickup on Tuesday or Thursday.

    • Anyone have luck with the Featherstone shop? Code doesn't seem to work (put in Featherstone300)

      • Featherston Street? Try dropping the ”e” at the end.

        • lol that might have been why. Worked now :)

          • @samsteez: when did u order it? hasn't worked this morning for me - featherston st

            • @JG34: Earlier this morning. Looks like both the burrito and bowl are now sold out.

  • Legend! Thanks Op. What a score

  • +1

Lol I was typing this up and fell asleep,

Literally "you snooze you lose" 😂

  • Not available in Auckland stores. Guess I'm too late.

    • +1

I preordered for an Auckland store for Wednesday, worked for me

      • I also just pre-ordered now for Wednesday from an Auckland store and it worked

    • +2

Would be surprising, as they didn’t give the correct promo code in Facebook. Maybe try both MTWELLINGTON300 and MOUNTWELLINGTON300 for the Mt Wellington branch, can’t remember which one it was

      • For oteha valley, the code works but when choosing 25th, the free items are both OOS.

      • +2

Just successfully placed an order at Mt Wellington for wed using MTWELLINGTON300, thank you!

    • My guess is the Auckland stores are all OOS due to ppl preordering.

  • +3

    Wellington Cuba/Courtney/Fatherston streets sold out

Only applies to regular classic burrito, so if you see it say sold out for that day you're out if luck 😭

    • I'm out of luck 🫠

    • yep pain. was meant to order last night but waited till the morning :(

      • decided to order instantly as soon as someone outed the fact you could preorder for Wednesday. Will never underestimate cheapies ever again lol

        • so you ordered and picked up today or ?

          • @The Hound: Doubt it. Code is only valid on the 25th.

          • @The Hound: Preordered for 25th. I’m not sure they would’ve honoured it today. Depends on how the ordering system works I guess

  • Worked for me! Thanks OP, Wednesday nights diner sussed! How good!

  • A bit out of the way for me at Tower Junction but a free gut filling burrito is worth the arduous journey.

  • Got one from tower junction. Thanks OP

I asked on Instagram for the details of the giveaway. The Zambrero team are saying that the deal is available ONLY on Wednesday when the "secret" code goes live, and that the burritos haven't sold out. Seems like there is a miscommunication between the different platforms and they might not be aware that people have pre-ordered.

    • uh oh, not getting my hopes up

  • Is this all gone? After add the code it show original price

  • +1

There's more available if you orderr now.

    • Cheers just got one!

    • Sorted for lunch today, thanks!

  • Just ordered this morning. Thanks OP

    • Same here - ordered from Featherston St in Wellington and got one! Thanks OP, pumped for lunch

  • Tried Featherston but got code is no longer valid but the Cuba code works. Working at the train station end of town so Cuba and Courtney are a bit far to get to and back in a lunch break and a bus fare each way seems to defeat the purpose of a free lunch. Ah well lol.

Can someone please confirm when they have successfully collected their burrito that they pre ordered days ago? The fact that they are available this morning makes me wonder if the pre order is valid.. Despite being confirmed.

    • +1

I just want to know how bad are the queues lol

      • Makes you wonder.. I don't think they will be too bad in Auckland because less stores and not in the most easy to get to locations. But other cities might be busy! I booked for after lunch rush so hopefully it will be a whip in and out! Very curious though!

Just hooping the pre-pre orders are not an issue lol!

    • +1

Yep just picked up mine from Tower Junction. Ordered when the deal was published.

It’s a bit busy so just be patient 😊

  • Chch tower junctio has run out

    • +1

Wait WTF, I scheduled my order for 1PM they won't honor those?

      • You can still do an online order so I assume they haven't run out, just that the code has reached it's limit for the store.

      • Mine wasn’t honored and I ordered on Sunday - tried to pick just now for dinner from the Oteha Valley store and they said promo ended at 10:30am and I needed a confirmation email which I never received. -$15 for me :(

        • +1

sounds like their lost their shit after lunch time

        • +1

That really sucks! The confirmation emails were sent through after ordering (I ordered on Sunday too) I wonder if you found it in your junk folder whether Zambrero would add a credit to your app? They definitely needed the confirmation emails to hand over the food unfortunately.

          • @JJNZ: Oo thanks that’s a thought @JJNZ! Unfortunately my junk folder is empty - better luck next time!

  • Tried Featherston again at 11am and the code worked this time, but got excited and clicked order now without changing the time so it was an asap pickup. Raced down from work and turned out they didn't start making it until I showed the email anyway so possibly could have still gone a bit later. Probably beat the lunch time queue though. There were 2 other people before me doing the same, and someone else trying to show a screenshot which she claimed she was picking up for a friend but the staff refused it. Someone came after me and asked how to order the free one and they said it was now sold out.

  • I had 3 preorders to collect at 11am at Queensgate. Got there around 11.30 and not made up. So had to wait around 10 minutes. There were about 6 people waiting. No issues with collecting on behalf of the other people. I had copies of their orders but they just needed the names. Was a little disorganized but service was quick! I guess they can't make up the preorders incase people don't turn up?

  • Kudos to the Richmond team who were pumping out orders in the background and had closed the shop other than a serving window to manage the crowds and orders. Appeared to run very efficiently

Thanks OP for the deal and the free lunch.

Currently a 45 min wait at Mt Wellington after order time.

    • ugh glad I avoided. Went to BK instead to claim my roulette loot and took a minute or 2

  • The queue is out the door at tower junction. Waited about 10 mins for my pre-order. The burrito was fresh and nice. Will definitely order again from there.

  • Chur for the free purrito

  • richmond300

    Apply
    code is no longer valid

  • So many wasted burritos at Mt Wellington.. Lots of no shows! Staff were lovely and food was awesome! Mine was 25ish mins wait.

    • Did they give them away to randoms?

      • I am not actually sure what happened there with the ones sitting there unclaimed BUT they realized that people weren't coming and started serving the people who were there patiently waiting.. Which we all appreciated!

    • +1

The wait was like up to an hour at its peak so it is no wonder, people have to get back to their jobs. And the 2/3 guys making the food were the slowest dudes ever seen making (assembling) food.
Unfortunately you get some people like one guy who ordered 4. Ruins it for everyone.

Still, not gonna complain about the free food in itself.

      • There was a guy beside me who ended up walking out with 5 or 6 and had a mate with him who also ordered a bunch.. I was quite taken back by that lol. I can understand grabbing one for a mate, spouse, workmate or whatever.. But definitely a bit of a case of greed ruining it for others aye when you have people waiting for their one patiently.. I was prepared that even though my hubby had ordered one to give to our daughter that they may have declined us.

There did appear to be many no shows and then people rocking up like 1.5-2 hours later to try get an order after their order time.. That was wild.

I do wonder what happened wastage wise yesterday. I am sure they would have donated the food.

Anyway.. My wait wasn't bad considering and they were very accommodating of me when I asked how long because of having a bub with me.. All in all food was yum and the guys were lovely to me so no complaints there!

        • If food has been sitting there for a while, it has to be binned due to food safety standards

    • my dad went to pick up for the whole family. He said a number of people couldn't wait around for an hour so just ended up leaving after they had confirmed they were there so (which meant the shop started making the order, only for it to have no owner by the time it was ready).
