Might be a useful gadget for some.
I'm thinking it's a price error as it retails for $299 and on sale for $274+ in other stores

    Can't really see the use case for this given that you can view a lot of stuff on-demand via apps/web.

      Everybody's use case is different. Not everyone has an unlimited broadband plan. I’ve purchased one for an elderly lady who has no internet connection. 🙂

      Plus the rapidly approaching shift to digital(streaming) first then digital only within the next decade.

      You can use a PVR to skip ads on freeview. Tivos are still quite popular for this reason. TVNZ streaming you 'normally' can't skip the ads.
      Plus some content is not on streaming , but is on freeview OTA broadcast. But that said I don't really use my tivo much anymore.

      So you brought physically in store stock, at $49. ?. (So ttat's the UHF terrestrial one here, not the FreeView satellite model).
