Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, 20% off (40mm $479.20, 44mm $519.20), Plus $300 Trade-in Bonus @ Samsung NZ

140

You can start using the following the drop to as low at 430$ish..

Using the welcome 10% in Samsung Store app
BF2024 will get you $100 off
Trade in a phone - used my old S9 to get 55$ + 300$ tradeboost

$959.20 - 100$ - 55$ - 300$ - 10% (50ish) = 430$ish
I added a strap to bring it to 530$ to get a 100$ off from Amex.

My math is a bit bad.

Caveat: if you go to the website it says 100$ trade-in but if go to the item itself it says 300$

  • looks like they fixed the trade in error for smartwatches and tablets
    Have a chat with an agent and they'll give you a 10% code and a $50 code, trading in watch 4 classic $45 + $300 boost + 10% + $50 brought it down to $377.36

    • Hiya. I have the same watch (4 classic) so keen to get this update.
So it starts at $959.20 after the 20% BF discount. You're taking off $345, so now $614.20. You take off $50 so now $564.20. And you take off 10% ($56.42) so $507.78. What discount am I missing to drop it by another $130?

      • need 10% samsung app discount as well

        • trade in for smartwatches and tablets broken again on my app

          • @F armer: Same for me thus I did an old phone instead s9. I tried my old watch but wouldn't take the serial numbers

            • @imchance: it was broken until earlier tonight, was working again but back to broke

  • Is that $300 trade-in deal actually working for anyone right now? I tried it for a Samsung phone /watch, but it's not giving me the extra $300.

  • I did one that is on my cart. Looks like BF2024 is giving an error now

  • +2

Managed to get one for $367.36
    2 vouchers ($50 + 10% member) + S9($55) + $300(trade-in bonus) + 10% welcome bonus.
BF2024 not stackable for 10% voucher only for $50 voucher.
Tried to used to BF2024 + $50 gives me the value = $373.
Removed BF2024 and used 2 vouchers instead above gives me total value of $367.36 lowest i've got for the watch. Thanks OP!

  • +1

what do you ask to get the $50 code with the agent ?

    • +2

I've said i'm a loyal fan of Samsung. He gave me these 2 vouchers $50 + 10% right away and found out as well the BF2024 not stackable on the 10% voucher. Left only to use the 2 vouchers then.

      • thank you

Brought this watch couple of months ago and definitely the best Samsung watch I've owned so far they've finally sorted the Wi-Fi switching which is comparable to Apple Now you can reliably answer phone calls without having your phone within Bluetooth range. With always on display, you get about one and a half days. Got the orange Trail Band for $36 as opposed to the silicon grey band that came with it, which is actually quite good. I would've been disappointed if I had paid $125 for the Samsung trail band because it's already faded quite substantially and I've now just brought a knock off Grey trail band from PB for $18 and it seems pretty good value so far.

  • i just realised i dont have a eligible device for trade in :(, lol if anyone has a spare device which works for trade-in, let me know, happy to pay the price :)

The A04 used to be quite cheap broken screen or not working get one for $15. I see the last broken one on trademe went for 63 plus shipping so the prices moving upwards. People must be using them for trades. really gotta keep an eye out for them on Facebook or trade me

      • Thank you

        • +1

Hey, I have an A04 - turn on your DMs

      • If you don't need the phone for members app, should also pay attention to iPhones especially the iPhone 7 IMO e.g. this was recentish https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/mobile-phones/mobile…

But yeah from my experience has been quite difficult to get a tradeinable device for less than $30-40 in the past few weeks.

Does depends also if you're willing to risk stuff like this https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/mobile-phones/mobile… I mean it's probably fine but an iCloud or Google Play device always risk it has dodgy history if it's not from a business which sells devices where this is unlikely e.g. Twice.

        • I traded A04 on a S24 $485. The A04 description on trademe ,broken screen wouldn't charge and I discovered once I got it charged it was Google locked delivered $20. Crossed all the boxes sent away to Samsung and they accepted the trade. That's the worst one. I've traded others have been quite rough, but that was the worst condition, and the only Google locked I've sent. I prefer to get them working so I can use the members app.

          • @pdevonporf: if you dont mind me asking, I guess you're not in trouble for sending a google locked device or they don't care?

I do have a broken screen ipad+icloud locked that I considered to be trade-in but was advised not to as they could flag it as stolen.

            • @spam: I just checked all the boxes saying that nothing worked basically which included not starting up locked water damage everything.. That's their terms and conditions stating what is wrong with the trade. I've sent one with the wrong IMEI number and it went through and that was a good phone. I don't know whether they actually check the zero value phones unless you've traded a late model S23 etc.

            • @spam: Is it your own device or do you know the history of how it ended up locked? If you do, then IMO it's not a problem. One of the questions does mention locked devices "If applicable, has the activation lock on the device been disabled and free from tampered software?" so if you tick that correctly, I don't think a locked device is a problem.

But if you don't know the history, there's a risk the device is locked because it was stolen. If the screen is broken this is probably why it's locked but you still never know. If it's stolen and this was reported to the police and the owner was able to find the IMEI it'll be in some database. And getting the IMEI is quite a bit easier than your average device. Some brands let you get the IMEI from your account if you tied to a 'member' style app. But also their network provider will know the IMEI. Network providers also have a shared database of blacklisted devices for various reasons mostly due to theft. You can check the NZ database here https://www.tcf.org.nz/mobile/mobile-imei-checker-tool but I don't know if there some devices in other databases especially the police one which don't end up in the blocklist. AFAIK, every NZ network uses the shared database so if your device connects that also means it isn't blocklisted.

For all Assurants problems, fairly sure they must send the IMEI of devices they process to whatever stolen device databases they can to reduce legal risks to them. It's possible they don't bother to find the IMEI and just go by what you sent them but I expect they do make some minor efforts to check it. If the device doesn't turn on or the screen is broken, they might check the SIM tray or the case. You could remove these but that seems a bit questionable to me. Also if the screen is broken but the device does turn on, it might be they have computer systems to try and get these automatically.

If you do send a reported stolen device to Assurant and it gets flagged to the IMEI being in some database there's probably some risk you'll get a police visit. It shouldn't be that hard to explain to them what happened but still something very unpleasant and Assurant is going to kill your tradein whatever.

I don't think that many people are selling stolen devices on Trademe, but there are probably some. And I'd be especially wary of Facebook Marketplace even more if the seller seems to have a bunch of locked devices with no clear reason for it. I did personally buy a damaged screen FRP locked device from Trademe but it was from Twice who seem to mostly deal with insurance claims and stuff like that, so was fairly confident it wasn't FRP locked due to being stolen. Of course whenever you buy something factory locked or not from someone you can't entirely trust there's always some risk it might be a device reported stolen. Even buying something from Cash Converters https://www.cheapies.nz/comment/85126/redir isn't zero risk since while they check themselves, it might be reported stolen later.

P.S. Devices can also be in the telco block list due to being reported lost whether genuinely lost (which would likely mean a Play/iCloud locked device) or fraudulent insurance "lost" (which will probably mean it's not locked). Not sure if Assurant will care about these but it's possible they will. For clarity Twice sells devices which were damaged and were replaced under insurance so they don't end up on such blocklists since Twice is allowed to to resell them. (Well unless something very weird goes on e.g. someone sends a stolen phone as their 'damaged' device and keeps their actual phone.)

If there is a limited recall of certain devices with defective batteries it's possible these will also be blocklisted e.g. fairly sure this happened with the Note 7 although that was the entire line. Assurant is unlikely to want these either.

              • @Nil Einne: it was an ipad i bought off trademe that has the unknown condition, i.e. seller "doesn't" know the condition.
When I got it, found out the screen is dead but when I plugged into itunes, it's got the icloud locked.

I could probably "break it" further so they can't check the itunes but not sure if I'm willing to risk thath.

                • @spam: I mean the risk is likely very very low. Just when I was thinking about it, occurred to me ut could happen when I was writing my previous advice.

My thinking was, what can go wrong where Assurant might be in the right to reject your tradein? Given their history, I'd prefer as much as possible that I can confidently say, no you're wrong if they reject the tradein for any reason. The 3 things I came up with are stolen devices, bulging batteries, and phones with so much missing that they can be argued to no longer be what you said. (I mean even if you tick no to everything, can see reasonable argument that this doesn't mean the frame of a Samsung S8 with just the screen and cover but with everything else, board, camera, speaker battery etc all missing is a valid tradein.)

Bulging batteries you can easily see for yourself. And a physical examination plus the device turning on is enough to confirm you still basically have a phone IMO. Stolen phones is the hardest to check. Avoiding locked devices will help IMO although the majority of locked devices won't be stolen. Also any dodgy seller.

If the seller seems to regular sell items without issue probably not worth worrying about. I'm not that familiar with iCloud locked but with a broken screen device it might be hard to remove any accounts and they might not know the need. If you can find out the IMEI yourself and it's not in the blocklist, risk of it going wrong is even lower.

This is more of a Facebook market place concern. When I was looking at FB Marketplace there seemed to be someone trying to sell some recentish Samsung in decent condition at an amazingly low price. (Didn't mention about Play locked or unlocked IIRC.) When I checked they seemed to have a number of other phones. Don't know what was up with that, but decided it was way too risky. At the very least something I'd only do cash on pickup and meeting in a public place during a busy time (not after midnight like in that news report someone posted).

                  • @Nil Einne: you reckon if i ticked everything is fine and working and not include the charger for my old watch they will deny it ? The USB type A watch charger is so handy in my house.

  • My starting price is $1199 what am I missing here?

  • I bought it for $440 after trading in my watch4. I missed the $50 coupon!

  • Too bad, I cant trade-in my old Huawei smartwatch :/

  • trade-in apply validation-check input title.what to write here?

    • What are you trading ? normally it's the IMEI or serial number if your watch or tablet is just Wi-Fi Bluetooth. Serial numbers can be tricky sometimes it doesn't require the whole number.

      • Galaxy 4 watch

        • Looks like some sort of glitch as usual. It should be either serial number or IMEI number. You could try customer services although I find them quite useless.

  • I got a white one for $293.05 I traded in an old iPad and BF code and a 10% app discount I asked Samsung this morning about vouchers, but they did not provide me one (says non avail) and used Samsung points for another $10 off

  • trying to trade in a apple watch se2, but after inputting the serial number / imei, it doesn't even do anything
won't let me continue, has anyone found a fix?

    • +1

Try this. Dont do the trade in till the checkout. Then on the checkout page try trade in - worked for me.

      • Thanks, that worked!

    • I think they're only accepting trades from the sim model.

      • +1

mine is just the basic bluetooth GPS one, it worked, after a did what RJA7 said to do it at the checkout page

        • Yeah, that was a good idea. Forgot about that, for such a high-tech company they have a glitchy website. I also chatted to them about their advertising $300 trade in when the site was only $100 and they told me it was a misprint on the email and I said you were misrepresenting your product to get them to go to your website so it looks like quite a few other people complained as well.

  • Damn I should have waited… Traded in a 12 pro max and got a $100 boost.. $475 (+100)

I'm not complaining too much tho. I had a $150 coupon I won ages ago as a prize, plus the BF2024 deal, plus an agent gave me an additional 5% off code.

All up I paid $84.20 for my white Ultra. This thing is a battery beast. Had it 6 days and it's on 8%, I'll probably end the day around 6pm with it flat.

  • I bought the thing on release day at an EPP discount. Can confirm it is a beast. Just make sure you turn off Google assistant or change it to button activated rather than voice as it drains hella battery.

    • Always on display is the biggest killer about 40% Google Assistant around 5%.

  • Does anyone have a $50 off coupon that they dont need?

    • ask on the samsung website chat, they sent 2x 10% and 2x -$50 to me yesterday

      • were those 3/4 codes stackable ?

        I noticed my 2X$50 weren't stackable

        • no, not stackable
I have placed two orders yesterday thus the 2x codes

      • Tried chat they said none are available, looks like I'm a day late.

        • Might be worth trying again by email. Too late for for this sale but might be useful for future ones. You should also get a 10% which can be useful if you don't have Samsung members 10%. Note their codes seem to last longer than they say

  • Ah damn had it in cart and the offer just expired

    • they will come with something new in a week or so

  • Is the offer finished?
