Jetstar's Friday Fare Frenzy is now on. Cheap flights are available to/from Auckland, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington and Christchurch. There is even a deal from Wellington to Melbourne. Jetstar start flying to New Plymouth and Palmerston North (my town!) on Monday, as well starting as the Wellington - Nelson route.
Here are some of the deals:
- Auckland to New Plymouth - $19 one way
- Auckland to Palmerston North - $25 one way
- Auckland to Christchurch - $35 one way
The travel period for these and other domestic deals is March 31 2016 - April 12 2016.
- Wellington to Melbourne - $109 one way
The travel period for this route is April 13 2016 - June 22 2016.
I did a test booking for one adult on the Wellington - Melbourne flight and here is what I come up with. The return flight is not "on sale", but is discounted:
Depart Wellington 13/4/2016 6:45 a.m. Arrive Melbourne - Tullamarine 8:40 a.m. $109 Sale fare.
Depart Melbourne - Tullamarine 18/4/2016 0:40 a.m. (its the only one discounted). Arrive Wellington 6:05 a.m. $158.42 Hot fare.
The fare cost would be $267.42. On top of that would be baggage (if required), meal (if required), fees, taxes, levies and government taxes.
Friday Fare Frenzy Terms and Conditions:
Prices are quoted in NZD and are based on payment by direct deposit/POLi or voucher for bookings through jetstar.com. For all other bookings, a Booking and Service Fee of $5 per passenger per domestic flight and $8 to $12.50 per passenger, per international flight applies. Fares are web only, one-way and non-refundable. Limited changes are permitted, charges apply.
Baggage: Starter sale fares are one-way, checked baggage not included but may be added for an additional fee. Carefully check the carry-on baggage limits, including size restrictions, as they will be strictly applied. Passengers with more than the applicable carry-on baggage allowance will need to check in baggage, and charges will apply.
Selected travel dates and flights: Fares are not available on all flights or days. Limited availability over public holiday weekends and school holidays. Domestic travel period is March 31 2016 - April 12 2016. Wellington to Melbourne travel period is April 13 2016 - June 22 2016.
Flights between Auckland and Palmerston North/Napier/New Plymouth and between Auckland/Wellington and Nelson are operated by Eastern Australia Airlines for Jetstar Airways.
Sale ends January 29 2016 at 8pm, unless sold out prior.
The sale ends tonight at 8pm, but I don't know how to add an expiry time to the deal. If someone could do that for me, that would be much appreciated!

Added the expiry time to the post. In the future you can just write the time in the expiry box next to the date i.e. 2016-01-29 8:00pm for 8pm tonight. :)
