You should mention free delivery is included in the price :)

Updated title, seems the price has changed.

      • Thanks for the update! Not sure why they changed the price just then.

  • It's $28.17 inc GST at Ascent. Unless you're in Wellington and can pick up the item you should go to your nearest Warehouse Stationery or Noel Leeming, they're both selling the label maker for $30.

Generic refills go for $9-$13 on Ebay.

    • Ascent has free shipping built into the price anyway :)

      • Yeah I only just saw your reply.

    • Also if Brother are fine with processing multiple cashbacks for multiple valid purchases(check first!) then take advantage of Ascent passing on savings for purchasing multiple units saving $2 to $4+ per purchase depending how many you buy(ie cheaper than buying new refills)

      Cost from Ascent after cashback:

      Buy 1 $6.91
      Buy 2 $9.35
      Buy 3 $11.80
      Buy 4 $14.24
      Buy 5 $16.68
      Buy 10 $28.89
      Buy 30 $77.75($2.59 a unit)

      • Nothing about not allowing multiple.

"11. Only 1 claim may be made per qualifying product purchased. Fraudulent use of the claim form may result in legal action being taken. "

Is the only similar clause, and it's for the product only, not the registrant.

        • I can't edit that comment but those #'s are wrong(thought it was $26.90 when typing it..), you can remove them. Still could buy 10 at $41.54 after cashback and volume pricing.

          @Teckiwi:

Purchased 10 for $241 delivered. So $41 after cashback. $4 a unit. Good Christmas presents :)

Wow, arrived already… Cashback request has been sent…

    • I just ordered mine today, hopefully will arrive tomorrow :)

      • +1

Mine left this morning and arrived mid day, you'rs should arrive tomorrow.

    • The Mrs wants to know if it's any good for labeling repackaged meat to freeze, any idea?

      • I could test one out tomorrow if you wanted? They are all at the office unopened lol

        • No worries, there's always dodgy meat at the bottom of the deep freeze with the markings long rubbed off where we have to gamble how many years old it is.

        • @Toddy47:

Like the roulette pizza from Hell? Wroth a shot, right!?

        • @Toddy47: You know, trick there is to write on the label with a sharpie or whatever. Then run a piece of sticky tape over the top. Never rubs off then. So long as the bag is quite dry, the tape should stick well.

      • Ascent description

Can you wipe Brother Labels clean?
Yes and that’s why you’ll find Brother TZ range of labels in delis, butchers, and even hospitals.

Are these labels tough enough to be used under all sorts of conditions indoors and outdoors?
Yes. Indoors you’ve got all the obvious uses in the kitchen, like labels for ingredients containers, spices and herbs. Brother Labels are also tough enough to go in the freezer - so label containers with precooked meals and leftovers.

How do they cope in extreme heat?
They withstand extreme heat too. So you can put labelled container or cups, in the dishwasher, oven or microwave.

Will these labels fade, curl or peel off like other labels do?
No, they won’t. These labels can withstand minus 80°( a home freezer only gets to minus 17°), and 150°+, so you will get a lot more wear and tear out of Brother Labels.

        • Sounds like the Superman of label makers… Krpytonite anyone?

        • @Shaw: Kryptonite seems to be refills.

        • @Toddy47:

          Nice one haha.

From my extremely scientific testing, it seemed to stick well to plastic wrap/bags, even if they were already in the freezer. Try to stick it to anything else already frozen (I had nothing that needed freezing that wasn't, so couldn't test that) and it leave you two non stick sides.

        • 10/10 for scientific testing.

        • @Toddy47:

Someone around here has to do the scientific testing mate, I put my hand up on this occasion!

        • @Shaw: While on the subject of scientistic testing, how long did it take before you ran out of tape trying to label everything… furthermore how long was it before you regretted labeling said items?

        • @Toddy47:

Well, to be honest, we still haven't used up the first sample tape yet! The wife has even gone and labeled all of the drawers for what's in them, because she hates that I just chuck stuff where there is space (Not that it's made a difference). Have labeled all of the door handles and computers at the office too, will finish off the patch panel labels when I get around to it. See if the sample tape is still going strong by then. No regrets yet!

Hopefully, the first label you print out will be,'Label Printer'. So you don't forget what it does ……..

Shouldn't it be Hello World instead?

Was looking at this earlier and wanted to make sure it was legit to process multiple cashbacks so called Brother and they confirm its fine. When you fill out the form use the same receipt number just enter a different serial number. Will pop my order in now, good deal

    • Yea, they even give you the option to add more products on a single page, so that was handy.

    • Yeah should be deal of the week imo

  • Does anyone know if these come with tape for printing, or you have to buy separately? Thanks

    • Comes with a "SAMPLE" tape, 4m in length.

      • Thanks. Do you know if refills cost much?

        • Bought a refill with mine yesterday. Here's the normal retail price on Ascent:

TZE231 Labelling Tape, 12mm, Black on White: $33.16 incl GST (including FREE delivery)

        • Depends on whether you want genuine or compatibles.

They are about $6.50 AUD on Ebay.

        • I had a quick look at nz sites and they have the TZE231 tape was $12.99 at the techwarehouse.co.nz I think it is. Plus shipping of $4

Received payment confirmation today, 10 emails. Should take a day or two to come through.

    • When did you receive the cashback acceptance email? Got 10 in my inbox yesterday so trying to gauge the processing time on these

      • 3rd was when I requested, 9th was when I received the acceptance.

  • +3

Price has dropped even more! Now $7.97 after cashback, that 20 cents has now made it a buy for me!

    • +1

Obviously $8 was the barrier for you!

      • As per the infamous story variously attributed to George Bernard Shaw, Winston Churchhill, Groucho and others:

“We’ve already established what you are. Now we’re just haggling over the price.”

And now we know Toddy47's price is…….$8

Swweeet, Cheep as, bro ! ლ(╹◡╹ლ)

Received 10x $20 cashbacks in my account this morning :)

    • +1

      Same, nice turnaround there.

      • Looks like the cashback finishes today (last day). Just wondering, if I order from Ascent today, would the order processed be quick enough for meeting cashback deadline of 14th Feb. (have a friend who wants to get multiple).

        • The order confirmation should be instant. Check the terms, look for the last day to claim, versus the last purchase date.

  • +1

cashback period looks to have extended to the 29th. Last few days to get yourself a label printer :D
