RE: Butchery Beef Silverside Corned 1.6kg $6.49
Instore price is actually $6.49 per kg, not per 1.6kg. Discounted yes, but not as much as indicated above. Also worth noting that the product has an excessive amount of fluid in the package as part of the weight.
We selected one of the leaner packages. When weighed at home, 20% of the weight was fluid (water, blood, brining soln?) Some of the packets were bulging footballs of liquid. In our case, that put the price up to about $8.10 per kg of actual meat. (though supersaturated so a lot of this will cook out as well)
Also on sale at our Countdown but not mentioned above:
Golden Circle Fruit Drink (25% juice) 1 litre tetrapacks for $1 each. Full range of flavours. Think that is about $2.50 off so nice pickup.
Whittakers Chocolate as indicated, but Cadbury have also dropped the prices for their chocolate blocks to the same price. (Though most would say Whittakers is the better chocolate?)
Cheers
