  • When reposting deals from OzB, it's good to link to the original deal so people can read the discussion on there.

  • Just got mine. Did change Kindle address to US just in case. Remember it's expiring in less than 24 hours if you haven't used it yet.

    • BTW, I had the problem of it my credit not showing up on the payment screen. I didn't have to delete everything from cart including saved for later as some people recommended. Instead I just removed the 2 items I wanted to buy from saved for later, and readded them and it was fine. Possibly provided you have $25 or more in newly added items in your cart it's fine?

      • I was able to use the $5 while using Amazon Smile.

Also I may have partially figured out why people are having problems and a simpler way to resolve it for those with some minor technical skills which I think doesn't require you to remove anything from cart etc.

If you click on the button to start shopping on the Assistant to use your $5 credit, the browser tab which opens will probably have something like this near the end of the URL ?tag=amz-mkt-fox-us-20&ascsubtag=XXXXXXX where XXXXX is a very long string including a bunch of -. If you see another & that is the end of the string. If you copy this part of the url, when you are in in the checkout page and the $5 is not showing up, look at the URL. It will probably end in ?hasWorkingJavascript=1. In this case delete the ? from the earlier string you copied and add an & in place, it will be something like &tag=amz-mkt-fox-us-20&ascsubtag=XXXXXXX

Add it to the end of the checkout page URL without any spaces and then load the URL (push enter). When it reloads, you will probably find you now have the $5 credit and can checkout. You can probably also add it earlier in the checkout.

I didn't try this extensively, in particular I didn't try it when the $5 credit never worked. (I had the situation where it worked and I did something and it disappeared. When I added this string it reappeared.) I'm also not sure you even need the ascsubtag string.

Anyway this also gives me a clue why people are needing to delete stuff from their cart. ?tag is what affiliates use to get a referrer bonus when people shop. If you added items with another tag/affiliate, there's probably a conflict and the original tag takes precedence.

        Hope this helps.
