Good price, considering most shops in NZ sell for ~$100 and is rarely discounted. Occasionally gets discounted to $80 and one time 18 months ago discounted to $72.

This will probably work with the $10 credit if you managed to get one, bringing it down to USD $38.68
Or the $5 credit bringing it down to USD $43.68

  • You can buy this in auckland for not much more, from stores like vegabonds and king of cards. Probably cheaper if you wait for a special discounts (like the stores birthday or special events like Armageddon).

  • It was $65 @ Mightyape earlier in the week. Sold out now though.

    • Should've shared!

      • I have shared previous Catan (and toys) deals but nobody seemed interested, so stopped.

        • Oh no. I would be interested too.

        • @Alias: no one ever wants to play this game with me. Left it in the garage and it went moldy. Are they still using cardboard pieces? I reckon they need to change to plastic, the cardboard edge pieces always gets warped and the tiles never sit nice and flat. Would be better to make 3d printed rules and borders and get a shop to print some stickers.

Board games are making a quiet revival though. When you mention board games to the average person, they think of Monopoly, Connect 4, Trivial Pursuit, Cranium etc. Games that require a bit more thought and strategy like Catan, Carcassone, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, Power Grid, Puerto Rico have quite a following, and you just gotta know the right people and attend meet-ups if you don't.
