Not everyone would have a use for one of these, some probably have a few sitting around. If you have a LGA 1151 or 1150 CPU with an old CPU fan, then you aren't going to find a much cheaper option to replace it with a new stock fan.
lol i just saw these, great if your getting an imported cpu.
My 2500k stock fan wasn't adequately cooling my cpu and temps would get into the 80s under load. Since upgrading to a coolermaster hyper 212 evo my temperatures sit in the 30s/40s.
yar.. though modern cpu's use less voltage (not much though) have a lower thermal footprint (through efficiency).. i always wished i could swap out the cooling on my sandy bridge laptop!
I remember breaking a clip on one of these and having the a 2nd hand cpu off trademe just for the stock cooler for like $20.
