  • I just missed the cash back part. good spotting!

    • I guess because Noel Leeming didn't put up sign showing the cashback both in-store and online. In JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman, the cashback poster and phamplet was everywhere in their camera section.

    • How much was the cashback?

  • +1

also pay with WM Card and get $20 voucher

    • True that. Thanks for the reminder. Added to deal

  • Cash back from Noel lemming or Nikon? I think cash back period ended in "I'm new Zealand" site on the 24th

    • From Nikon, cashback form here, from experience, they usually take 1 to 2 weeks to process cashback

      • hey reading their terms on my phone it seems the period after 24th is for other models?

        • Hmm, you're right. That's sneaky of them. Will request for removal.

        • +1

@coolstorybro: stupid terms and their stupid conditions ruining things!

        • @nachos: Sigh.. I was happy for a second that NZ caught up to Aussie camera sale standard, but nope, they just have to end the cashback before boxing day. But on second thought, it's still a pretty decent deal for NZ standard, so will change description and keep it.

      • That website clearly says about the claim expiry date of this model as 24/12

        • Purchase expiry rather than claim expiry, meaning last valid purchase day for claim is 24/12. So if you purchased the camera online on 24/12 at night when Noel Leeming released their online boxing day sale, then you would be able to claim it.

        • yes the "I'm new Zealand" site

  • Sold out now

    • Sold out online but still quite a lot in store as of 6PM today

  • NIKON D3400 with single lens kits

Hi! Guys, I suggest not to buy this camera with standard 18-55 single lens. You should buy the camera with standard lens 18-55cm VR. VR means the lens has anti-shaking function. I think the VR function On American Amazon(https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-D3400-NIKKOR-18-55mm-3-5-5-6G/d… ) website and Chinese JD.COM website(https://item.jd.com/3829283.html#crumb-wrap).

I bought one by price matching in a JB-hIFi and is waiting for transferring to . After I confirmed the standard lens has no VR, I GOT MY MONEY BACK! On Chinese jd.com website, no customer chose to buy a standard lens without VR. The different sets only have a NZ$50 difference. If you are not happy with the lens, you will have to spend around NZD 256 to buy the same lens with VR function and nobody will buy your original lens. IMO, return the product and let Nikon to keep their product. Otherwise, they would not give us best options.

    • In the U.S. Nikon directly offers the best option of D3400 set. In China, Nikon offers options to consumers to choose. In NZ, we can only get the worse option. Therefore, i returned it!

      • If all D3400 kit lens in NZ doesn't include VR, are you suggesting people not to buy it at all? This camera is just as popular as any other camera in Ozbargain, even all the D3400 single kit lens in Aussie doesnt have VR. Even the newer Canon kit lens have no VR or IS in NZ. As good as VR is, it is not a necessity especially if you planned to upgrade your lens. The only time a kit VR is good is when shooting videos at Telephoto range. No point shooting night photography without flash as the aperture of all kit lenses are not that great anyway.

Aside of kit lens, this is still an excellent camera with one of the best image sensor (better than entry Canon!) With good low light performance

        • I have not owned a DLSR camera,I am not sure how big the difference of taking photos between kit lens with VR and kit lens without VR. I guess there much be a reason why most people choose to buy the camera with kit lens if they have the options by paying NZ$50 more. However, if you can get an additional kit lens with VR less than NZ$200, it can still be a deal for $499. I just showed my preference.
