Google Nest Mini $39 @ The Market

20

Google Nest mini is $39 at the market, the Warehouse and JB Hi-Fi.

It could also be worth attempting to price match at Bunnings (15% off lowest price policy) to get it for $33.15.
I didn't have any luck doing this as they claimed "the model number is slightly different so we cannot price match it".
Edit: Bunnings have reduced their price

              @RSTH: https://help.thewarehouse.co.nz/Help/s/article/Price-promise
What is The Warehouse Price Promise?

We will beat any competitor's price by 10%.

If you can provide proof of a competitor’s current advertised price e.g. a mailer, press ad or screenshot from an eligible competitor retailer, and your original receipt if seeking a refund.

We will beat any competitor's price by 10%.

Proof of competitor's current advertised price is required.

Product must be in stock at both our store and the competitor’s store at the time of the price match.

Item needs to be same (exact), in its original packaging, must be a standard stocked item & from a NZ based retailer. Store Manager has discretion to apply (in some circumstances) the price promise to similar items e.g. Clothing.

Products lowered in price cannot be combined with any other TWL or competitor’s promotion or credit offer, or with any trade terms, direct purchasing from the supplier, limited quantity offers or internet only retailers.

Customer needs to provide proof of price e.g. competitor mailer, quote press ad or screenshot from an eligible competitor retailer, and an original receipt if seeking a refund.

Claim must be lodged within 7 days of purchase.

For online price matching, the product must have the same barcode, priced on the same day, same freight and shipping lead times and be from a NZ based retailer with a .co.nz website only.

@gjung333: If you keep reading that page, you'll find the exclusions and exceptions.. Technology products are price matched only. Although if you're one of those people you might argue with them that this item isn't listed amongst mobile phones, Apple products etc.
At the end of the day, it's still a technology product so to me it is included in that. That's just me though..

  • Anyone have problem with this, I couldn't seem to get it to turn on and off tv suddenly

    • Just a wild guess, but does your tv support HDMI-CEC and is it enabled?

      • HDMI-CEC would be using a chromecast to control the TV, this is google home, which would require the TV to support google home and would use home wifi/network connection to turn off and on (not HDMI-CEC).

      • It used to works, and CEC yes it's enabled, now I just keep getting these message from Nest [Sorry power control is not supporting yet] [I couldn't turn on your tv, please consult with your tv manual or manufacturer to see whether it's supported]

        • sometimes this can happen when you have more than 1 tv in your home.(like the app)
try name the tv bedroom tv or something and see if that helps.
after a rename usually needs a few minutes and a app restart too.
iv seen this when it gets confused between using my chromecast and my IR blaster

          • @rkl: I only have 1 tv at home and I had tried rename but no luck, when I cast youtube to TV it does have 2 TV on the list tho after I click cast icon, Im not sure how that happen or how do I remove it

          • @rkl: Also whenever I cast chromecast will play the video on youtube at 480p when my connection can go up to 1080, and it's only happen to youtube ( I have another TV box I play video at 1080 all the time with no lag)

  • There's going to be a Boxing Day coupon code coming out soon that's available from 00:00 24 December 2020 - 23:59:59 31 December 2020. Too early to say what the requirements of it are; minimum spend, percentage or $ off etc. Code might be along the lines of BD2020. You can see the first bit of information on it here

    • Nice find, its a 5% coupon, $1 minimum spend!

      • oh sweet. Where did you find that?

        • +7

When you try to apply a coupon, you can see the coupon settings in the developer tools.

          • @psychowei: Are you able to tell me where exactly to look? I've been browsing around 'Elements' and 'Console' after clicking 'check' BD2020 coupon at checkout, but can't find those details. Not my forte the developer tools.

            • +1

@Wakrak: should be a network tab and it pops up after a response from themarket after checking the coupon. PM me If you still have issues

              • @psychowei: Figured it out. Cheers for the new knowledge 🤙
