  • Anyone in the past have tried out the Air Conditioner?thoughts?
    specifically the 2.6kW for $699.
    Cheers

    • Pretty sure those don't come with the outdoor unit (despite showing one in the photos), so you'd need to try find one in NZ. Better to just pay a bit more and buy a low end Midea one on Tradedepot.

They definitely come with the outdoor unit.

      • +1

The photos show the outdoor unit (condenser).

      • That makes zero sense.

How would that even work, getting the indoor radiator/fan and not the outdoor compressor?!?

    • I personally haven't but the only thing stopping me is wondering if air con people will install other air cons that you don't buy off them. May have trouble finding one that allows you this as lots of their margin are on them for selling you their air con.

      • +1

This is definitely something to consider if you aren't installing it yourself.

If it goes wrong, you will have to try to determine whether it is a failure of the unit (in which case, nothing to do with the installer), or the installer (nothing to do with Kogan).

Looking at it from the installer's perspective - you are being asked to install something that might be a load of rubbish (how would they know?), you aren't familiar with, and could drag your reputation down with it. If I was an installer, I would not want to go there myself - I'd politely decline and move on.

That potentially means you are only getting quotes from cowboys and those desperate for work (in which case, you should ask yourself why), and, if you are lucky, those that might be familiar with Kogan units.

It's always possible that Kogan can supply a list of installers for their units - if so, then that might mitigate some of the above.

        Alan.

    • I personally own the Kogan 2.6kW AirCon.Got it last year when it was on a special price for $500. I am really happy with it
It has Wifi inbuilt so comes in quite handy to power on/off while I am away from home.
Got it installed in my bedroom and its works like a charm.
      No issues since my purchase

    • Been fully looking at these myself :)

  • Anything worth buying around $20… Any good toys for under 5?

    • +5

Got me some Havaianas jandals & face towels.

$19.99 total. Just so I can have one pair at the front of the house and one pair at the back 🦥

      • nice nice. You always find the good stuff lol

  • Unfortunately, it can only add one coupon. Can't combine with my $20 voucher.

    • The $20 voucher you need to first add to your account.

My account - Coupons & Credits - eVoucher

      Instructions in the email

You can redeem your eVoucher on the Kogan.com website at www.kogan.co.nz . After logging in, under your account, select "eVouchers". There you can enter your eVoucher code to convert it to credit and link it to your account. If you do not have a Kogan.com Account, you can create one on the website by clicking the 'Login or Join' button.

      • I added mine but it only seems to be useable on the kogan.com/AU site, and does not appear on the kogan.com/NZ version. Have emailed Kogan to sort out.

        • Odd. I just used mine.

        • Maybe by mistake you added it to kogan AU site?

          • @ace310: It would appear that is what has happened. I was browsing the NZ site, but it seems when I clicked my Account details that it has jumped over to the AU site without me noticing.

Wishing I had ordered that fan now, so it could have been refunded and got myself a $20 coupon!
        Benefit of hindsight.

      • Thanks. I added coupon and refreshed. Showed $20 under my credit. When I check out there is no option for use credit. I went back to credit page showed I have no credit available. I tried to re claim the coupon it says coupon already been claimed.

        • Get onto their Customer Service (chat?) - they will probably be able to see what has happened and hopefully fix it.

          • @Alan6984: Yes, waiting for their reply now.

          • @Alan6984: Where on earth do they hide the live chat?

            • +1

@Arsonist: Apologies - I can't find chat. Maybe I was dreaming about having used that, but I found a contact form option (I think!):

              https://www.kogan.com/account/dashboard/customer-care/

              • @Alan6984: Just recieved this email back to my query:

                Hi Arsonist,
                Thanks for getting in touch.
Unfortunately, you cannot use your E-voucher code on Kogan New Zealand website since it has been issued from our Australian Website.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

                • @Arsonist: Well that's stupid.

                • @Arsonist: Ask the Aussie's to refund so you can buy an e-voucher for NZ?

                  • @Alan6984: I'll try my luck haha.

                    • @Arsonist: No luck! They cannot do anything about it apparently.

                      • @Arsonist: They cannot or won’t? 🤔

                        • @bigcheese: Who knows haha. This was their response when asked again.

I understand that this is not the response that you were after, and it's unfortunate that we couldn't transfer it to be used to Kogan New Zealand website.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  • Looking to buy a standing mixer as a present, can anyone comment on the Kogan 1400W standing mixer or know of any other good priced ones elsewhere

Managed to borrow the login details to a Choice account.
      https://www.choice.com.au/products/home-and-living/kitchen/f…

      Good points

      • 14 day change of mind policy.
      • Spring loaded motor head.
      • Fairly comprehensive instructions with some recipes.
      • Shield is positioned on to motor head around the beater, so the shield is lifted away from the bowl when motor head is lifted, this makes it easier to access mixture when scraping down the bowl. Easy to add ingredients while shield is on, shield stops any splashing of ingredients.

      Bad points

      • Dial has no grip, can become slippery.
      • The stainless steel bowl has no handle to help unlock or rotate the bowl to lock into place.
      • No eject button to remove beater, hand can get covered in mixture.
      • No scraper beater, need to scrape down the sides of the bowl.

      CHOICE expert rating - 79%
      Performance - 83%
      Ease of use - 73%
      Whisk score - 80%
      Beater score - 70%

      Noise (dB) - 74

    • I purchased the Kogan 1400W Classic Stand Mixer (Black) last year. Have used a few times, no issues, seems pretty grunty compared to other low cost options. The motor whine is noisy at full speed, like almost need ear muffs in the kitchen! Is this normal for mixers?

Are the Kogan TVs worth looking at? Mainly to go in our sleepout for occasional / guest use, and a bit of gaming when the main TV in the house is in use. Or should I steer clear?

    • dont buy a cheap tv. simple as that

      • yeah thought so. Scouring trademe and FB marketplace it is then. Chur!

  • Thanks, got a whetstone. Saw the same one on Aliexpress but barely cheaper.

  • Thanks Wakrak, brought a smartwatch. Had it on my "watch list" for a while now. Was waiting for the free shipping deal.

  • Anyone know how often these free shipping codes come up?

  • Thanks - I've been eyeing some of their dipthyque candles.

Strange place to be buying scented candles from, but hey.

  • My order arrived this morning (rural Hamilton).
