BBCOMPARE22

This is a Broadband compare exclusive deal - BroadbandCompare.
But you do not have to go through the website. You can directly access using the voucher code in the URL like below.

This gives you $57.95 per month for the first year on 12 months contract for 300mbps plan (or $72.95 per month for 900-ish mbps plan for 12 months)
so it becomes $695.4 for first 12 months and it is better than the 3 months free deal (https://www.cheapies.nz/node/32591) which is $719.55 for first 12 months.

Interesting try:
If you put BBCOMPARE20 instead then you will get 59.95 per month for 12 months.
so BBCOMPARE22 gives you $22 monthly discount while BBCOMPARE20 gives you $20 only.
BBCOMPARE15 = $64.95 per month (after $15 monthly discount)

    Skinny is still cheaper with its 4M free promo, $78 x 8M = $624

    • Yeah I signed up last week on their unlimited fibre ultra plan and with the 4 months free it averages out at $68.58/mo over 12 months (and that includes the $15 courier for the router they force you to accept).

      • -1

does the router go up to ultra fibre speed?

        • I get 787 down / 73 up using the Ookla speedtester app through CoreELEC (via ethernet). Not bad for the Hamilton countryside.

          • @Wakrak: what about on wifi?

            • @justaddwater: Me standing 2m away using my iPhone XR

620.93 down, 452.76 up, ping (ms) 5 - Trustpower Auckland - Ookla speedtester app

Obviously bear in mind that wifi speeds will vary quite a bit.

            • @justaddwater: On my old laptop never goes over 100mb, but thats an issue with the older wifi card. New ryzen 7 laptop easily hit 500mb in any part of the house.

          • @Wakrak: I didn't think BYO modem worked with Skinny?

            • @corbettjms: I'm using the Skinny modem but you can definitely use your own. You just won't get any support from Skinny.

            • @corbettjms: You can use your own, just need to configure it yourself. It uses the same settings as Bigpipe.

              • @felixfurtak: Ah interesting i was deciding between slingshot and skinny and i wanted skinny but i just couldnt find anywhere the required settings etc and skinny would only say take our modem.

                • @corbettjms: That's the risk you take. What modem do you have? There's plenty of people to help you figure it out between here and Geekzone, but Geekzoners will say the same thing; 'use the Skinny modem if you want support'.

Geekzone: Skinny - can you use your own router?

                  • @Wakrak: I've already ended up signing onto slightshot for $62pm for 300/100. I saw that thread but i think i was to nervous risking it with the new hardware i brought (Synology MR2200ac mesh and rt2600ac).

    • Yep, unfortunately they don't offer any incentive to stay with them after the first year is up, forcing people to swap.

I’m with Skinny ($98 plan) and I’m about to renew next month after a year with them. I spoke with their online team, telling them I’d rather stay as it’ll be a hassle changing providers and porting phone numbers, so they said they’ll do the 4 months deal for me as a one off. Ymmv…

        • That's pretty good from them. I'll be negotiating soon since mine runs out in a month or two. There was an issue connecting me in the first place and as a result, they said they'll be giving me a discounted rate once my free 6 months is over. Should hopefully give me a bit of leverage when trying to get another four months free instead like what you got.

Worse comes to worse, I put $78 a month (over the last 5/6 months) into a separate account so that the next six months would be paid for already.

          • +2

@Wakrak: That’s one thing I don’t like about Skinny - have to set the $$$ away and pay by credit/debit card. Can’t do automatic payment and force the account into credit like how I did with Now broadband before, and Slingshot before that.

I got the Skinny deal last year 1st 6 months free and have had zero issues to date. Modem does an adequate job over wifi hitting 500mb on laptop. The 6 months end 1st May, and I'll stay with Skinny but thinking of going down to the 300mb plan has anyone done this and do they charge a fee for changing?

      • Good stuff. I'll swap to the lower plan saving $20/m next week.

    • +1

I just switched to the 300 Mbps plan yesterday as my 6 months free is about to be over, no extra charges.

      • Excellent stuff. Have you noticed any difference with surfing/streaming/downloads?

        • Exactly did the same thing except I'm on 2D as I love their free router. I haven't experienced any difference at all but I haven't bought a AAA pc game.

        • I feel that videos are buffering bit more lately but I am gonna wait a few days to say for sure. Sometimes plan change overs are a bit messy.

  • i'm on the skinny 300mbs plan and my contract ends this months. i've asked live chat if i could get the 4 months free offer if i renew 12 months. they said no… lol. Hello Slightshot, Goodbye Skinny

    • I did the same except with Slingshot. Off to skinny now lol

  • I noticed Electric Kiwi is offering no contract broadband now. Has anybody tried using them?
I'm currently with Skinny but they won't give the 4 months free to existing customers so thinking about switching to Electric Kiwi for a couple of months

    • Depends what you're after. Electric Kiwi $2.65 a day for 300/100 so roughly $79 a month. Pretty standard…

  • Due to Stuff Fibre moving to Slingshot, I asked from their sales line if I can avail this promo and they gave it to me. No need to change the routers and everything. It's also the same unlimited plan too that they offer.
