Wise cardholders; T20 World Cup is on Sky.

    • Was just checking that myself.
      Sometimes Sky, sometimes Spark Sport.
Televised sport is like a box of chocolates these days…

    • Is there a 1 month trial for Sky?

7 day trial with Sky Sport Now

As bigcheese said, it’s a one week trial, but with a Wise card, you can take advantage of this over and over again by creating new digital Visa debit cards. I did this last night to watch the BOP vs. Canterbury game (😢).

Requires a physical Wise card to begin with which may cost $14 and take up to three weeks to arrive.

You also don’t need to wait for the physical card to arrive to begin using it.
Once you are set up and have paid for the card you can use the virtual cards straight away whilst waiting for the physical card to arrive.

          Go Canterbury 😊

          • @bigcheese: Is there a reliable workaround for virtual numbers ? I've used sms activate for activating Netflix via turkey several months ago & it did cost like .50c for keeping an actual number active for like 15 mins or so. Problem is it's topping up the balance for that.
Any other similar platform to just generate virtual numbers for NZ ?

            • @Ashwin: Not that I know of.
Wise will give you infinite debit card numbers but no idea on mobile numbers.
For Netflix via Turkey I have used my own NZ mobile number and then Netflix Turkey gift cards through Turgame.
I’m current until about January and so far that has worked fine.

              • @bigcheese: Would be nice if there is one existed so can just keep signing up for spark sport trial, my Netflix subscription gets auto debited out of the wise virtual card had the NZ number on account yet wanted Turkish number to just verify. Post verification rest comms are set for NZ number/ email. Same goes for Amazon prime & Disney+ all goes out of wise card each month.
Got fancode subscription for sports but doesn't stream live over via any vpn or dns service, just using it for catch-up at the moment.

  • Thanks for this - gave it a test with PureVPN and works well. Don't mind spending the $13 or so for the world cup. Way more reasonable than the extortion of Sky

  • Same deal has been posted on Slickdeals (if you want to read some more yarns about it).
