    • I think soundbar at PB is bundled with a sub hence the huge RRP whereas these are the standalone bars

      • oh right. Makes it a bit more attractive then.

4xAA eneloop batteries for 16.92 seems decent nowadays

    • Anyone know if I can use my Energizer rechargable battery charger to charge eneloops? I tried googling and got conflicting information. Only thing putting me off is forking out for the charger.

      • +2

Does it support NiMH? If so then it would be fine. Nothing fancy in rechargeable batteries except the chemistry

        • +1

Cheers. Yes they are NiMH. I'll give them a go then.

        • For general use (kids toys, gaming controller, etc.) is it better to get the standard one and not the eneloop pro? From what I can gather, the pro is intended for camera?

          • @spam: Would recommend pro for high drain devices like rc cars. Normal toys, controllers get standard one.

      • Sure. Small prints on my old enoloop batteries say "only charge with a Sanyo specified charger".

        • Lol, guess who owned Enoloop before :P #marketing

      • Will be fine, is it a smart charger?

I have an old dumb Energizer charger that you set and forget. I replaced it with a EBL 8 bay unit I got off Amazon. Has indicator lights for each channel so can remove when done. Compared to the dumb one which just runs for xx hours then turns off.

tl;dr will work fine, but smart chargers are betterer.

        • I guess it's smart - it has the indicator lights that turn off when done charging.

      • +1

Not all chargers are created equal: I strongly recommend that you get a better charger. I don't believe the cheap(-ly made) ones - and yes, Energizer chargers are cheaply made - are any good, the Eneloops are most likely going to have reduced life. Sort of like putting 91 ethanol blend in your high performance sports car - it'll work but you won't get the full performance or life out of it. If you're going to invest in good rechargeables then you're better off investing in a good charger. Liitokala and Nitecore are the two long time favourites, there may be others. You can get them from reputable sellers (😂) on AliExpress

  • had a look not really seeing any really good deals

      The Briscoes equivalent for tech

      • Sad. They weren't always like this.

  • Looking for a cheeky 65 inch tv under 2k. Anyone a bit more knowledgable about TVs know if any of those TV deals are decent?

The Phillips PML looks to be an ok deal
    https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/TVPHS86265/Philips-65PML950…

Also this one seems to be pretty decent for that price of under 1k?
    https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/TVPHS82365/Philips-65PUT790…

If you're not a TV snob then they'll probably be fine. But there's a picture quality difference between cheap TV's like this and better quality TV's like a Samsung. Never expect the software on the TV to be any good or continue working as it did the day you got it with any manufacturer.

This one seems decent too, not often can you get a 65 inch OLED under 2k: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/TVPHS92065/Philips-65OLED70…

      • I agree regarding price, but it makes some sense seeing as it's a 2021 model.

Bought something from them last week and price has dropped lower, do they credit the difference?

Any free ship codes going right now?

  • I'm looking to get power bank. Can anyone comment on these ones:
    https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/BAPMIX005884/Xiaomi-10000mA…
    https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/BAPMOX00012/Momax-10000mah-…
    https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/BAPMIX004305/Xiaomi-Redmi-1…
OR am I better off getting baseus one of Ali? Not sure if the shipping is going to be an issue with Lithium on courier.

    • Xiaomi ones are good/ Redmi are the cheaper ones from them, If you are after Laptop charging with 22W/45W/65W at cheap there are few sellers selling in Trademe 20000mah/30000mah (95Wh/114Wh) from Baseus. Try Amazon AU too… I got from Trademe 65W Baseus for my Steam Deck

  • Any good 13" laptop deals with 16gb ram & 512gb ssd/m2, good battery life. Need something good for normal accounting work. Light and portable.
