  Is the Impress worth it more than the normal Express which can go to less than $600 when Briscoes has a 50% storewide sale?

    If I didn't already have the standard Express I would be getting this Impress version. I found it did help considerably with the tamping process and also kept my area cleaner for not much more cost.

    Are you satisfied with a semi auto machine, or will you buy accessories to complement the espresso journey? i.e. WDT, Tampers, etc - if the answer is no, then the impress is great with the all-in-one approach.

    The other notable factor is it's got a few more grind settings, so for coffees where the shot is not quite right extraction on a 5 grind but 4 is too much, that would likely help dialling it in.

    Of course you can always upgrade to a separate grinder, and as a general comment grinder quality is one of the most important factors in espresso - a high end grinder with a cheap espresso machine tends to produce better coffee than a cheap grinder with a high end espresso machine.
