@Shaw: true, a few weeks ago I tried to get them to price beat some special seedling mix as warehouse had a sale but was out of stock in store. The girl phones a manager and she comes back saying because its a special deal or on sale we don't usually price match but we will give it to you cheaper this time.
The terms do not say anything about the item being on sale being an exclusion, the closest I can find in the terms and conditons are "stock liquidation". However its interpretation would usually be used where a store is closing down. I could see how in this case as its a Smiths City stock take clearance sale (if the staff even looked into it) they may try touse that to say it is an exclusion.
Yea exactly, most store policies seem open to interpretation by any given staff member at any given time, it's strange. Doesn't just go for Mitre 10.
