Anyone have a list of places still operating during the lockdown? I've see the Chemist Warehouse is still shipping, as is Repco.

I love Cheapies for this reason! Looking out for everyone, helping us out, getting us through. Great website, awesome community. And especially at this time it is so much appreciated! Kia kaha.

Hey 0mfgroflmao, here is a small, random list I compiled of places that are still open for online shopping and delivering goods during this lockdown period:

    *Chemist Warehouse - (https://www.chemistwarehouse.co.nz/)

BTW - you can still buy Lotto tix online during Lotto via their website (https://mylotto.co.nz/) or app. But what to do with the money if you actually win during lockdown is another matter - hmmm, tough choice between buying more hand sanitisers, toilet paper or maybe some more panadol! 🤔😆 Not funny i know, soz guys, just trying to laugh during a pretty darn sh*tty situation!

  • Actually guys, not sure about that last site I mentioned above? Is brewbound a legit company? Not sure, be careful with that one… All the rest of them I know are legit companies and have used most of them personally too, with no problems.

I had been quite disappointed lately seeing the sheer amount of people out and about flouting the L4 rules ; but seeing this post made me feel hopeful and brought back that sense of community. Thanks so much OP and Mods; and every single one who contributed/s to this thread!

I've asked on different thread - but is it business as usual for online purchases from Amazon US for orders fulfilled by Amazon? Keen to get some fitness gear for the lockdown, unless others are aware of where I can buy locally during Lv4? Thanks.

    • +1

My understanding is that, yes, Amazon US is shipping.

However, there are flights to get to NZ, so it might take a while, and the couriers here probably won't deliver it to you (although I don't get that one - its just what they seem to be saying).

      Alan.

      • +1

While Amazon US is shipping, it isn't replenishing it's stock of non-essentials to meet demand and many products are seeing heavy delays (4 weeks+). Meanwhile couriers while they say they are not delivering, are delivering everything as far as the couple of local couriers I've spoken to have said.

The Market, The Warehouse, Noel Lemmings and Harvey Norman are open for limited on-line purchases.
Health, safety and work from home products
So appliances, cleaning, computer items etc

You can buy duvet inners but no covers, I ripped mine 2 days ago lol.

Greeks on Wheels has now been given permission to operate 0800 424 335

Mighty Ape is open again online.

JB Hi-Fi is now able to dispatch online orders for approved essential items during the Covid-19 lockdown period.

All essential products are clearly marked as Essential throughout our website.

Any orders for non-essential items will be dispatched when we're back on deck, which at this stage won't be until at least late April.

    Essential Items

  • Is it my imagination or have a few more online stores suddenly opened up for business again today after news of Covid cases plummeting in NZ? For example, Health 2000 wasn’t selling stuff online up until today, at least I thought they weren’t. Plus I saw an online liquor store opened up for biz again today, although I cannot recall which one - it popped up on my Facebook feed and I just kept scrolling as I didn’t think much of it at the time…

So has anybody else noticed online retailers suddenly opening up today or is it just me?

Anyway, great news re only 29 cases today, let’s hope trend continues, it’s a great sign. 🤞

I think that the over zealous people at MPI have realised that they effectively just gifted millions of dollars to Woolworths and FoodStuffs, and the cabinet has begun to realise that there is (supposed to be) an election later this year.

I seem to recall reading that about 60% of what the supermarkets in NZ sell in a normal week is on discount. Currently, I would imagine that it very much lower (or at least the discounts are much smaller) - why discount when the government has mandated that almost all your competition is not allowed to trade?

Prices of perishables at the farm gate sound like they have plummeted (this is based on anecdotal evidence from people I know, rather than anything more substantive, so maybe wrong, or at least localised, but it makes sense), since there are (simplistically) only two buyers in the market now, so they set a price, and the grower takes it or leaves the produce to rot.

If one retailer can open and operate safely, why can't any other retailer that also follows the guidelines?
