Here's an imgur album with some of the game pricing from day one: http://imgur.com/a/dExzY and Razer pricing: http://imgur.com/rvp5bIB

  • Suggestions that it will include TV's and Laptops although there is some debate about whether this will be tomorrow or Saturday when the sale is supposed to begin. The staff said they only found out today's pricing last night.

Lots of discounts are not marked on shelves, ask to see today's discount list. Featherston St and Manners St both let me read the discount list which allowed me to quickly scan for the best deals (They compare the new price to the previous price and the amount of stock in store).

Finally - be patient with the staff. More than one store I was speaking to said they went in at 6.30am this morning to re-ticket everything and still weren't done. Apparently they ticketed a bunch of stuff yesterday that changed in price overnight so they had to redo it this morning, they're talking needing to reticket like 700+ items today.

        • @bigbosssnake:

Just temporarily out of the country for an extended period of time, if that makes sense.

    • @Shaw: It's actually live on their website for $9

      • Just saw it, thanks mate.

  • No new discounts today just the existing specials apparently. At DSE Featherston St was passing by anyway.

    • Agreed, the deals look the same here in auckland

  • Lyall bay have a galaxy note 4 for $581,$249 PS3 500gb, $100 psp. All to the right of the counter.

They also have 4 1tb Toshiba portable hard drives for $59

  • Picked up Samsung Ativ Tab 3 display model for $99 & Sony Xperia Go for $17. Botany has heaps of tablets.

    • Do you know which tablets are available? I live quite close to Botany!

      • ASUS 10.1 2in1, bunch of 7-8inch androids and a few $199 high-end samsungs. At Botany most clearance is in a trolley by the counter, most people miss it.

        • Just went in-store, the Dick Smith staff say they're all sold out this morning.

        • @coolstorybro: Sorry mate, they must have got hammered after I left. There were at least 20 tablets left when I was there.

  • There's a $49 netbook still apparently in stock at a few stores.

Lyall bay has one 10 mins ago but it needed resetting. Also Queensgate were showing 10 in stock. Upper Hutt, Kapiti and Johnsonville were also showing 1 or 2 but no idea on condition of any of them.

hp pavilion ts 10-e004au 10.1 laptop

  • Manners st have a new 2TB desktop hard drive for $59, still a few $20 power packs but none of the $5 ones. Of course still loads of cases including some $10 smart cases for iPad airs.

Edit: Also apparently an iPhone 6Plus 64gb(I think that was the capacity) for $949, no idea if it's new or display though.

  • +4

Went into hornby and riccartion….nothing left all gone and no new deals

  • Has the media "hype" done anything? Are there any more people at the stores than there would normally be?

    • Friday was unusually busy, but the foot traffic looks normal today. The media hype is mostly from the Aussie press.

Some stores like Manukau rarely put yellow stickers on individual items, which makes them look as if they're still at full price.

      • I see, kind of caught with a foot on both sides I guess. At least there aren't heaps of disappointed people.

  • FYI as of 2pm the $41 LG Optimus L9 is still available in Takapuna (Saw one myself there), Onehunga, Botany Downs and Takanini.

  • Just FYI, DSE have plenty of $2 ink cartridges.

  • If anyone got a Vita, I might be interested in buying it from you. Let me know.

  • Just note, if anyone is wanting to sell any of the stuff they have purchased, we have a classified section for you to do that, selling in the thread is not allowed.

  • +1

The Onehunga store still got some good stuff:

    • etc..

  • Nothing new in Albany, Auckland today either

  • Got a Samsung Galaxy S3 for $64 from Manukau branch, minus charger and manual.
One of the shop assistants was doing prices for ex demo phones while I was there and it looks like there may be a S4 and S5 going for cheap there in an hours time.
The shop assistant was a cow and not very helpful, I asked what the price would be for them and she said she would have to go out the back to check and then they would not be ready till an hours time.
She really didnt want to get off her big backside so I didnt push it.
It may be worth a visit later and thats if the shop assistants have not grabbed it for themselves.

    • Thanks for the tip - picked up an S4 for $280. Gutted I missed out on Wednesday/Thursday's deals but still happy with it.

  • Any new bargains this week?

    • It may be worth a visit later and thats if the shop assistants have not grabbed it for themselves.

All taken by staff members ROFL

  • Saw nothing worth noting at the manners st and featherston st stores in wellington today.
    All good stuffs gone :(

  • Echoing other comments - I needed a cheap case today so stopped into Featherston St, most of the lower priced electronics are gone. There are still some of the Jawbone fitness bands if anyone is after them (Doesn't seem like people are) also still seems to be some discounted home theatre / blueray players although I didn't look to closely.

  • Article about this on the herald about Dick Smith staff hoarding all the items.
