    • Would i be able to click and collect i wonder , no idea how they are doing this for 5 bucks thats gotta be near actual cost of productions?!

      • That's a marketing trick. By making promo on one item, they manage to get u to step into their store, and often times people will pick up a thing or 2 which will make sure that they are still hitting their profit margin.

Also with a usual marked up price of $48, they have already made enough profit. So a one-time promo of $5 doesn't actually mean much on their balance sheet.

One thing u can be sure is they will never be at loss.

A true Cheapie only goes in for the deal and nothing else.

My plan tomorrow - grab the hose, grab a box of $5 eggs, and going home.

Pro Tip: Add it to your wishlist in the Warehouse app and allow for price alert notifications. Then you get a notification tomorrow when the price drops.

The hose reel looks like a pricing error.
Will be interested what they advertise it at tomorrow.

Here’s a screen grab from The Warehouse Facebook page showing it’s meant to be $25 not $5

      • Oh damn now I want it even more! Even though I live in an apartment and have no garden. I can hose down the windows I suppose.

      • They just remove it from the app front page, I think I saw it advertise at $5 an hour ago

      • yeah given the image is removed from the homepage too I would agree

        • Yep I think it's a bad sign. Although it was advertised most of today so I might ask them to honour it.

    • Just saw the ad about this on insta, and it says the hose n reel will be $25 tomorrow.

    • -1

Says it’s $48 now. Guess it was a pricing error

      • +1

        Deals are for tomorrow

    • Oops my bad

    • This seems sus. This morning I saw it advertised for $5 for tomorrow. So if it is now going to be $25 tomorrow, then that looks to be a pricing error.

However currently it has a tag on the thumbnail that it is a red hot deal at $48 as shown at https://files.cheapies.nz/upload/1210/4851/screenshot_2024-0… ! But surely they haven't made two errors on the same product, as they shouldn't be advertising it as a 'red hot deal' today at $48?
I did look at it instore and the plastic fittings were more flimsy than known brands. I would pay $5, but not $25.

      • Looks like a pricing error, and yes, a double error. Likely to be team members who don't know how to use the software for deals like this. Not something they do frequently (before this).

      • +2

I mean to be honest, if there's two errors on the same product it to me just sounds like someone had drinks with their freinds the night before, went into work when they didn't really want to and had a minute-lasting brain fart.

        We've all been there, right?

        • Or he was a true legend doing it on purpose on his last day at work in TWH 😝

    • I'm going to expire this.

    • yeah marked down to $25 now

  • Limit of 6 for the coffee but if you go to The Market you can get as many as you want for $5 a pop.

  • Looks like the hose price is $25 on THW page now

  • +1

App is still showing $5 on front page for me, but going to the reel page or adding to the cart makes the price at $25.

Still they can't make this right.

    https://files.cheapies.nz/upload/4285/4852/img_2376.png

    • Yup mine is showing the same as yours in my ap.

    • Same! When I check both online and in app the price is $25..

    • Yes, again they have made an error somewhere. Not really good enough for such a large company. The thing is that the homepage price showing is an actual image.

    • +1

Still showing $5 on the front page on the website at 8.45am, but $25 in cart.
Pretty poor to still be wrong at this time

      • +2

I went to online chat at 8am and told them that as well that its still online at $5…..they said it was a genuine mistake and they were looking into it……i said i have screenshots from 2 days ago at the $5 price and the same for today and said you should honour it as you would be breaching fair trading standards…….he said as a one of he would adjust price so i had 4 in my cart so got them for $20

        • Lucky you.

        • What you gonna do with four of them?

          • +1

@fatboyj: No one should be asking what they are doing with their hoses 😅

          • @fatboyj: One is a gift and 2 are needed to replace end of life hoses that I have here and the 4th, well as a spare :-)

        • Can confirm this also worked for me. Was advised it was a one off

      • Fixed now - showing $25 on the main page.

Is paying $25 for this hose reel good deal or are there any better hose reels available for under $50?

    • +1

IMO still a really good deal. I bought this last year for close to full price and it works well and has kept our hoses tidy. I can't find anything comparable for $40 let alone $25. Don't get thrown off by this being "not $5". I did think $5 was borderlining "too good to be true" territory.

    • I got a really good branded quality 20m hose from Bunnings in their summer clearance a few years ago for $20, normally nearly $100. So you can sometimes get better deals.

  • Does anyone have a screenshot of The Warehouse's website showing 5 bucks this morning? Website please not app.

  • +1

If it helps anyone, live chat wouldn't give me the $5 price but did send me a $10 goodwill discount code. Might put it towards some eggs…

  • I managed to get the hose for $5.00 by saying instore " why is the one day deal price saying $5.00 yet the product when you click on it or scan on self check out saying $25.00" . They apologised and said they would adjust the price .Did this in Takanini store at 8am this morning

    • I got it too for $5 by showing the online ad. . It was good that they honoured it.They have now updated the website. It will be good as a hose for cleaning the car so I don't need to drag the main hose around the garden.

      • What time was that that u went to the store if u don't mind me asking? And if u can please upload the receipt?

        • I did it online and ordered very early this morning.

    • Mind to upload receipt?thanks!
